I read Michael Connelly books too, Harry Bosch is my hero. I love Mark Twain too, not a fan of Poe or Frost. Nice solid entry into the contest. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for reading and congratulations on your second place win! I've read every Harry Bosch novel that Connelly has written and he's my hero too. Thanks again.

I love the eclectic list of books. In including both books and authors, you've covered so much ground. You handled the prompt well, and I can only hope people pay attention to your message.

Dear Mystery Writer,
I have grown up reading so many of these books myself. Looks like we've had a similar reading journey! That is so cool. *smile* Thanks for sharing -- btw - I love, love, your last two couplets. Thanks and good luck!

Very nice poem about the adventure you had from reading. I can relate to your sentiment. I like the title and how you stringed your words.

Thank you for reading my poem, and for such a great review.

I like how you have made reading books a good part of your life time.
I like the titles you are introducing to the FanStory community.
I am happy to notice even I have read many of the titles, except Trixie Belden Books. With your recommendation I will check with my public library on the books,
just to experience a new writer. Best reguards for your contest entry.

Thank you so much for reading my poem. I too have learned about new books I'm interested in, through reading the other entries. I appreciate you taking time to review my work, as it's always appreciated.

This poem is amazing! You covered so many books from adolescence to adulthood. You make it very clear to the readers that books have meant a lot to you. Good luck in your contest!

Well done - going from your youth through your latest years - vividly describing the stories and books. Very good job listing many of the books you've read and your illustration suits the poem also

Wow! I'm an avid reader myself but, if I weren't, I think I'd become one after reading this poem. I love that you went through the different periods and ages of your life, and which books and authors affected you when, as it shows that books can, in fact, be lifelong companions and teachers, and that there is no age too young or too old to benefit from books.
Your pacing is perfect, and your rhymes are spot on. The only suggestion I might make is to break this into stanzas to make it a bit less visually intimidating, i.e., it looks like prose with many words, which might turn off someone opening this expecting poetry. I will say, however, that your use of bolding, italics and varying font sizes does give it a bit more visual interest. I just feel that stanzas would help as well.
By the way, I honestly feel that libraries could benefit from posting this in their windows or entryways.

Thank you so much! Your kind review and six stars have really made my day. I have also taken your advice and broke the poem up into stanzas. Thank you for stopping by. : )

I must admit books were my salvation also. I loved this poem and found it made me smile, even though a lot of the authors you mentioned, I haven't heard of. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.
