Hi, Craig.

Sorry about the delay getting to review this, as I truly enjoy catching your work. A universal truth packed in three short lines. We can't worry so much about yesterday and tomorrow, but there's right now, and the now's are best when in the company of another, especially if that another is dear.

I just love this. To me it was a beautiful read. Like Romeo and Juliet. You should get that put on a Valentines Day card. I am bookcaseing it because it touched my heart. This means it came from the heart. Well done. It is a wonderful entry into the contest. Good luck with the contest.

Such an artistic presentation. Sometimes you really surprise me with your tasteful aesthetic. ;-)

I think I'll pass on the carp though. Not really my thing.

This is a terrific three line poem and I wish you great luck with the Contest Committee. :)

It shouldn't come as any surprise, Gloria. You know I spend a lot of time chewing the fat with the evangelical crowd in the forums. I've simply adapted one of their key techniques for use when my non-artistic self is struggling with presentation issues.

    I ask myself:

    WWGD?

    (What would Gloria do?)

Thanks for the fun review and the delightful rating :)

Craig, this is a wonderful verse and you nailed it with describing the uncertainty of life.. live now, laugh now, love now. I enjoyed reading your entry for this prompt!!

A very well-written three-line poem about the values we all should live by daily. The only day that matters is today, yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come.

Carpe diem for sure, Craig. This is a lovely three line poem. It's so romantic, you could have entered it in the love poem competition. The black and white image and your words remind me of something out of Casablanca. Plus it makes me think of that song "As Time Goes By."
Although your words are nostalgic to me, they are also as current as can be.
You probably have another winner here.

Hi Craig, what lovely little write and a sweet love poem. Excellent showcase of time's passage. The only suggestion I have is to eliminate the filler word "is" in the first line to achieve parallel word structure between lines.

    Hi Pam,

I looked at it again, in view of your comments. It needs to be 5 syllables. All I could think of to lose the "is" would be "yesterday's long gone", but then I end up with contractions in the first and last lines, which might not be a good thing. I'll chew it over some, thanks for the suggestion. Craig

    What about the following:

    My yesterday's gone

This contrasts my with ours in the final line.

It still has the contraction, though, and I can't help feeling 2 in 3 lines is one too many. I'm happier with the "is", although I appreciate the suggestion.

    Of course, any time.

Hi Craig, and that is so true. What was before has certainly gone and cannot be retrieved. As for tomorrow, we may never know but what we have right now is for us to keep. Great entry and good luck. Ulla:))

Yes, carpe diem. If we live our lives in these twenty-four hours, we can enjoy each and every day. Plan, but don't project into the future. Good three-line poem. Marilyn
