A very well-written sad poem/song lyrics about a love that seems to end sooner than it was planned now we know it is time to leave the past behind and carry on with our lives somewhere else without them.

These lyrics, One More Broken Song, brings the blues of being on the road and trading a comfy hug for the payday and the spotlight. That's where the juice for the songs comes from, I guess.

:) thanks for stopping and checking it out! Definitely, only my story was actually a little different. My person used too much alcohol and it ruined our relationship, so I made the decision to go into the military. I wrote this on my way from the Atlanta airport to basic training many years ago! :) I appreciate your precious comment! xoxo

I love it. I can almost hear a melody in my head as I read it. If you have not thought of turning this into a song you might want to.

Good luck in the contest.

It seems that those broken songs are created by broken relationships that can't seem to be fixed. I don't know that their is one explanation for what went wrong. The one thing that can be said is that this is the result of it. I like this well written work and commend you on how well you developed the subject matter and brought it forth. Great job and well done!

Thank you so much for your awesome comment! Actually alcohol on his part got in the way so I made a decision to go into the military! Seem like the best place for me at 18 to get away and get healed! I wrote this while traveling from Atlanta airport to my basic training in Anniston Alabama many years ago :) xoxo

This is very lyrical in its delivery, which I assume was the intent. I have only read a couple so far but, this approach may work for you. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

thank you very much! I noticed there is not much lyrical work here, so that is why I would like to bring a bit more to this community! Appreciate that you enjoyed!

Hello mystery writer. You need to sit down at a keyboard and put some chords to this music. I almost came to the point of singing the words as I went along. It seems to me the words would make a good balad.

Oh how I wish I was so musically talented. I need me a good musician who can help find just the right melody! Maybe some minor chords to give it that Umph!! LOL! Alas, none around me! :) thanks for your precious review!!

I was thinking about entering this contest, but after reading your poem, I'm not sure. I really enjoyed reading this. You are a talented poet. This is an excellent contest entry and should do very well in the voting booth. It might be the winner.

Beautiful, lyrical and sublimely heartfelt. Many of your readers will both appreciate and empathize with this work. Was this meant to be a song. It definitely reads like one.

This IS lyrical! I can totally hear this as a song (in the minor key) with a low, bluesy voice reaching in and pulling my heart right out of my chest. This is awesome, Mystery Poet! A complete and total standout. Best of luck to you in the contest! xo

Sooo...can you sing in a low bluesy voice? I bet you could do it great justice! I need a ?Nina Simone? about right now! Haha! Love your review! Always appreciated! Too bad they won?t let me nominate you ?again? :(. xoxo

No, I'm actually a classically trained operatic soprano --a coloratura, the highest of the high...the kind who breaks glass! I do appreciate the thought, though, of being one of those sexy, sultry bluesy types. They're everyone's favorite! xo

Oh my! Breaking glass are we! I used to sing soprano back in my younger days! But def not classically trained! My sister by another mother (same papa) studied in New York and has a beautiful soprano voice and she went on to do theatre work in Palms Springs (CA) near where she lives. I?m sure it is an exceptional event to hear you sing! I can see it now - an operatic soprano ballerina gracefully singing and dancing across the piano keys while writing her next Fanstory goodie! Marvelous, simply marvelous! xoxo
