A beautiful, sad Sevenelle about her one night of the year when
her eyes won't shed a single tear, as she still waits for her love to return to her, as she lives on, in hope. Well told tale, really enjoyed it,
cheers

Nicely done. A true heart breaking saga of unrequited love that never ends. Living the day year after year and never doubting the dream will come true. How very sad. The message is definitely and artfully portrayed in your poem.

That is a beautiful picture. Stunning, really. I rather enjoyed this poetry form. Seven line stanzas with the last two lines repeating in every stanza. I like the rhyme scheme too. It's so sad when brides get stood up at the altar. I enjoyed reading your poem today. Well done.

Joy xx

Well this is just beautiful Miss June.
I love this form, and your repeating
lines were skillfully and wonderfully
chosen.
A resplendent rhapsody!
Blessings...

Wow! Talk about carrying a torch ~ this lady does it. Your Sevenelle poem is excellent, worded and rhymed well. The image is very interesting and perfect for your piece. Marilyn

Well done and your story/poem evoked sympathy and longing for a happy ending to the jilted lady. In some ways, your poem reminds me of a famous writer who wrote about a woman who left the table set for a wedding breakfast until cobwebs overtook every thing. Ah, yes, her name was Miss Haversham. Well, your writing touched me. Thanks for sharing. XXK.

"The Ritual", is an extremely well-written and deftly descriptive piece. This talented poet has told it as it is. This heart-rending piece was a pleasure to both read and review. To me, this is a six, but unfortunately I only have fives left. I look forward to reading your next post.

You've written a beautiful, though sad, sevenelle. I guess one's mind does what it needs to stave off hurtful thoughts. This reminded me of Cinderella is the prince hadn't shown interest in her.

"When the mind chooses to believe what the heart knows is no longer true.'
Surely that must be the perfect phrase chosen for parenthood. That truly is a beautiful poem and one I can so easily relate to. I guess the most powerful message in this poem is it shows the amazing ability parents, and lovers too I suppose have in issuing forgiveness. Your phrase says it all

You wove a touching story--like a reverse Cinderella in this Sevenella with its pure rhymes and repeats. Because of the parallel title and artwork, I knew where the tale was heading in the opening stanza. Well done! -Joan
