This poem shows all the life and beauty we will lose if we don't start taking care of the Earth. The last stanza is the push to get everyone doing their part to conserve our world.

Dear Author,
I fully agree with the sentiment and thoughts of your poem and Author's Note: if we do not conserve before it is too late, our earth is in irreversible trouble. I also ask your excellent worded thought: "is it too late...?" I wish I had six stars left! Deborah

Hello,
Your poem effectively portrays the message of saving the beauty of the earth. It is your word choice and word couplings that really stand out to me. (Glowing flies, chirping crickets, zebra's swirling hide). Excellent job!

What a wonderful poem, it does make me wonder what exactly we are leaving for the next generations to come, hopefully all hands can become one to help us to achieve this, an excellent read and poem, very well done****kahpot

Hi Pam, good to hear from you again. I know the world regards sin with askance, politicians can't agree on a solution, so we are leaderless, and unless man can make a massive, collective change of heart, the chasm awaits. A beautifully composed and eloquent piece of poetry, in an unusual, for you, tetrametic stanzas in smooth, articulate flow, and abab rhyming, well done, blessings, Roy

In the poem you discuss a lot of the animals as well as the fauna and flora that are part of this world. Your description of everything from "glowing flies" to elephants is quite good. You touched on conditions that a lot of people are concerned about. The question is, how can we fix it?

This is a very well-created poem, presenting nature as it is or was, and ending each stanza with a question about the future. It's greatest strength is that it forces the reader to face what we have, and what we will lose if we don't take the proper care. I found the question "Will empty cupboards still have shelves?" to be the most provocative, as it essentially asks the definition of "empty," which made me think (as intended) of what the world would be like if it were empty of nature and its wonders, by the hand of man and the climate change he's brought about. Thanks for making us think about what we're doing.

You have made excellent use of many specific details in this well-written,
thought-provoking piece. Burning of fossil fuels is one example of how
man causes climate change. God will hold us accountable.

In this life only we probably will not see physical or mental peace - only through faith in Jesus Christ and accepting His sacrifice for sin - that's my belief. The folks who are running this world right now do not have our best interests at heart - most of the time. It's a selfish world - but each one of us can make a difference for at least one other person. I want to do that.
Your poem definitely made me think - thanks.
