I love your writing Red, you strike me as being someone whose thoughts come out of left field, a refreshing cross between a priest and a hippie. (I mean it as a compliment,) I like the deputy Tommi, who you said is possibly the worst since Barney Fyfe. I like these small town folk you've invented my friend, Andy Griffith eat your heart out, well done Red, blessings, Roy

Thanks very much for reading and reviewing, Roy. I wish I could find a town like Mayberry, I might be tempted to relocate there.

So am interested in the preachers wife. The smell of familiar perfume. Is this an indicator? Love the story, and would only drop all was doing if somebody was tinkling in a bass voice bout how all the body parts that was somehow connected! Could see that happenin in my neighborhood! Maybe, would liven things up a bit, but those down at the brew pubs wouldn't hear...

Country parsons' wives, in my experience, loved ribboned hats and piercing perfume. The I Am came from the Burning Bush instruction to Moses, and the Bones song began as a negro spiritual....and the
thread came from Neil Diamond's "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show." and of course Ches, the historical Goat man.

I enjoyed your story, Red. You did a great job with the dialect/slang words of the area. I could understand each one. I like that the goats seemed oblivious to all the commotion and were settling down in the weeds. I really liked the idea of the music/preaching the Goat Man did and the fact that Tommi stayed to listen--too bad about the poor reception of her phone--amazing it was full when she got the call. However, those backwoods 'things' can do a number on phones, right? Thanks for sharing. Jan

Cell phones are very iffy in the hills. I saw Ches The Goat Man in my youth, a couple of times(my art is his wagon photoshopped) Thanks very much for reading and reviewing, and bless you for that sixth star!
