This is not fair to your lovely poem, but I have to tell you why I will remember it. I read your first line, and I said. "what's a brooch?" Does she mean 'broach?' So I had to look up brooch, only to discover that what I always thought was a broach is a brooch. I wear brooches all the time and have never seen the word. I am so impressed that you knew the correct usage.
Your poem is good. That does look like a brooch. You might include a couple of sentences in your notes explaining how millions of butterflies travel thousands of miles a year to winter on a few trees. Some people might not know how big that en masse really is.

Haiku? I'm learning, let me know if I am right. Anyway to business this is a very moving piece, especially with the photograph. Monarchs I believe.

Yes, to learn more depth description of Haiku, please visit the Shadow Poetry site, Haiku, Senryu, and Tanka section. There is much more to haiku than the made up 5/7/5 version.
Monarchs, yes. Thanks, Rikki for your kind review

Oh, my goodness....I've never actually witness the monarch migration, Trisha, but I've always been fascinated by it!! ;) ;) This is such a cool haiku because, oh yeah, that's definitely a beautiful brooch I'd love to wear!! ;) :) Thanx for sharing! ;)

A very well-written haiku about the art brooches of nature when hundreds of migrant butterflies flock together and makes a seemingly beautiful flower that no one will suspect it is butterflies at first glance.

This is a very well executed 5-7-5 with correct line and syllable count. Your word choices create a vivid picture in the reader's mind. I have a question about the word "broches" - did you mean 'brooches' like an ornate pin? Tat's what came to mind for me when looking at the picture. Nicely done and thank you very much for sharing it.

A fantastic scene from Nature, naturally sewed, crafted as the wings of colourful migratory butterflies weaved a dress on rest; well said, well done. Write-Inspire-Change --DR ALCREATOR

Thanks for sharing this creative poem about the mass of butterflies in the forest. That is an excellent picture to match your writing. I have never seen so many butterflies in one place. Thanks for sharing!
