Hey Lisa: I found your polling of using the analogy of tasting or eating the word very interesting. It reminded me of Psalm 34:8 that said "O taste and see that the Lord is good..." "Making a nourishing meal of it" is really a good subtitle. Good work. Z (shorter than Robert)

Hi Z, I remembered that psalm when I started writing the poem. So much of what we eat is rubbish that is bad for us (unless we are very disciplined) but chewing over the words of The Book will always provide a feast for the soul.

Hello Mystery Poet,

I enjoyed reading your poem for thgis faith poetry contest. You took a slightly different approach to this contest, but I can see that you are on the subject. This poem describes the church experience more than actual faith, but I see the seeds of faith shining in there.

Best wishes in this contest.

Sincerely Joy xx

I am pleased you enjoyed this poem. It is not my church experience as I don't go to church, but I do explore my faith through Bible study of The Word. I have faith it is true.

A very well-written poem about faith that grows in our heart when we get more and more knowledge about faith that will give us hope whenever we need to have faith in our Lord.

Dear Mystery Writer,

We are instructed to 'Taste and see that the Lord is good.' That's what this poem reminded me of. Then we are to meditate (munch and chew and consider) what the Bible has to say. Nice job -- good luck!

So much time...! :) This is such an wonderful offering for this contest!! ;) You've obviously taken some time with this one because your metaphor is so well done from beginning to end and your 'awesome alliteration' sprinkled throughout is a nice accent! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;) ;)

The Bible has been translated so many times for us to understand the stories and the philosophy behind it and to guide us in life, I enjoyed your praise of the good book and your patience to plough through it! Good luck with the contest, love Dolly x

I appreciate your review, Dolly. I am a Bible 'dipper'... I find it's language difficult to read but I persevere for its poetry, stories, history, and of course its guidance.
