It is sounding like Gunny's mind might wander every now and then but might remain solid as far as Dot, it is quite interesting now that a new character has been introduced****kahpot

Thank you for giving this a look.

Read them both. What a sad story. It happens a lot, especially if one is left alone for a long time, not even knowing if the other half is coming back. Well done, Bill. I was on holiday when you posted this story. Glad I found it. :)) Sandra x

I decided to do review on parts 1 and 2 together, as the story does not flesh out until the second part. I think using a ghost character is a brilliant way of expanding exposition without the main character having to reveal too much to himself, only to the reader. It wasn't until Dot spoke that I began to understand Gunny. I look forward to future scenes.

Hey! I did not know this was going to turn into some kind of freaky circus. What gives? Is Dot alive or dead? Is Gunny alive or dead? Is Gunny just crazy as hell? Inquiring minds demand to be told.

Poor Punny all that clear vision and he cannot see. Dot and Gunny have a good life even if no one else knows.

Ah... so the plot thickens, Dot is a ghost. Or is she a delusion in his advanced mind? I see this continued, I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Yeah, I had a feeling you'd do something like that to us, Sir Bill, and you did it so very masterfully -- love it! :) :) Now, I can't wait to learn 'the rest of story' (as Paul Harvey used to say..!). :) Thanx for sharing your imagination, sir! :) ;)

Hi Bill, now I'm really curious... I need to know now what happened to his wife and son. Obviously, they're both gone... but how, and why? Can't wait to find out!

I will get that intervie2 rescheduled.
Comment from Phyllis Stewart
So Dot is a ghost. She and her son were BOTH killed? How tragic for Gunny! I guess next time you'll tell us how it happened. I don't think I'd want to llive for 100 years. I'm eager to get to Heaven. I've been studying near-death experiences, and we all go to Heaven, and dying is super pleasant. Sure beats this lung disease I'm living with. :)

This story has a a few lanes to take and my funny side wants to claw it back from the maudlin. Many some happy MEDIUM.
Comment from judiverse
No wonder the young reporter is spooked, if there's this woman hanging around who's supposed to be dead. Twenty seems pretty young to die, but Gunny repeatedly says to him she'll always be 20. Apparently there was a son, too. I'm supposing the next part will explain about Theodore and why Dot says she let him down. Great work. judi

Thank you, Judi. There are two or three avenues of approach which come in maudlin or funny. I'll try to keep it light.

You're welcome. If you can go with somewhat sentimental, it could be kept fairly light. judi
