Elvis is a yes for me as well. Id like to be invited to that dinner to. I think this will do very well in the contest. I liked the simplicity of the story and how well it flowed. I also really liked the picture you chose. Overall very good job.

Oh my goodness!!! I just LOVE this one!!! You showed off each one's quirks in the BEST, funniest one-liners! I like the admonishments to Janis about her drinking (and the droll little 'You know him so well, you call him John? Very funny Missy' line! HAHAHAHA.) Probably my favorite was 'Yoko, please don't play with your mashed potatoes. Yes, very interesting. It does look like art.'

This is priceless. It's like the show Million Dollar Quartet, but funny. I think this one will probably get my vote, but I still have several more to read. Good luck in the contest. xo

Haha I was looking forward to your review on this one. I had fun with their little quirks.
Argh, just replied to 20 reviews, then computer jammed and lost them all.

That is SO very exasperating! I'm sorry that happened to you this morning. Hopefully your computer will behave itself now.

Actually, John Lenno. didn't die fighting hia demons, as there was no fighting done on his side's of the gun when he was murdered. I can of better rock stars for a rock jam, and I DEFINITELY wouldn't even allow Yolo to step in the room; she sucked. John should have never married that ugly, talentless slag.

Thanks for the review. John's demon was chapman that night, cheers

No, John's enemy was not Chapman; it was the evil that drove Chapman to do what he did.

I wanted to give you a heads-up. Contest announcement states there is a minimum word count of 700 words. When I ran this through MsWord, it counted 205 words. You still have some work to do. Good luck.

SPECIAL NOTE: I see that announcement says 150 words in one place, 700 in another. Disregard this review please.

I don't know if it matters or i'm being nitpicky but you have five listed: elvis, john and yoko, janis joplin, and kurt Cobain. Your story reminds me of the song Rock and Roll Heaven. Good luck in the contest, no disrespect but I hope you take second place

Thanks for the review. Yoko is still alive ( though some may disagree haha) wasn't sure if non~Canadians would get the line about sweet potatoes in the garage, but we seem to make lots and store them in the cool garage. Okay, see you at the finish line, cheers.

I wish I could hear that jam session... what a great collection of musos. I haven't heard the expression 'extra sweet potatoes in the garage' before so am not sure of its implications. I love the human sociability of your comments to your dinner guests, and the identifying humour. I fear for Janis's ability to converse at the dinner table though.

Thanks for your review. Canadians will get the sweet potatoes in the garage. We seem to make a lot at C'mas and Thanksgiving, storing the tray in the cool garage. Someone mentioned that I had five guests, inviting Yoko, but contrary to popular belief, she is still alive. Her and John were so in love I thought one last dinner together might be wonderful, cheers.

I noticed that about Yoko too... so sweet of you to include her. Their love was special; they both really understood each other when the world didn't really 'get' them at times.

You have some interesting guests at your dinner table and they would be good company for the night. My daughter had tickets to see Nirvana and he committed suicide before the show and she cried all night! She was absolutely heart-broken, a night I shall never forget, my grandson now wears a Nirvana t-shirt, I enjoyed your fun dinner with these special guests, love Dolly x

Oh,how sad. I guess that we assume these artists realize their impact on us all, but sometimes the demons can blind them. I always felt sad for him as he worked through his pain until he could take it no more. I am sure his wife did not help much there. Thanks for your insightful review Dolly. Cheers.

Well done. This is a humorous tale that is also poignant - so many young artists taken too early. But it is the humor that prevents the story from being mordant. The idea that this is a straightforward dinner and the host must create order. Good luck with the contest.
