I can imagine that the digging becomes quite tiresome at times. However, it has given you material for an enjoyable little poem. Thanks for sharing. I hope Molly's behaviour improves.

That's a dog for you, but I found out little boys will do the same thing. All they need is a tablespoon from the kitchen. This poem is wonderfully written and I love the picture.
Best of luck!
Have a great day and God bless.

LOL! All of my kids have dug in the garden with spoons - I guess I should feed them!
Thanks for your lovely feedback, Mike - I appreciate it. Best wishes, Debra :)

I loved this cute little poem. I'm a dog lover myself and every time mine does something bad I will scold them but they look at me with those innocent eyes and I cave.

This was a hoot! I enjoyed it immensely. If I had a six star rating left this poem would have earned it. It's too bad this wasn't a contest entry, it would have gotten my vote. Very nice job.

Hello Debra: This is too funny...however, take it from an old man who has had many, many dogs since I was a boy, they are going to dig.
According to what I've read and heard over the years, their sense of smell is about 100 times stronger than ours, so, they're constantly picking up different smells all the time. Most of those smells are underground. Such as, moles, bugs, worms, shrews and the list goes on and on. And once they pick up a smell they're going to try to dig it out.
Well, good luck Deb...don't fall into any craters.LOL. Bill

Hi Bill :) Thanks for your empathetic feedback - I take my life (or at least the soundness of my ankles!) in my hands every time I go out on the lawn - It's like the surface of the moon out there!!
Best wishes, Debra :)

Hi Debra, I just love a poem I can identify with, I have a dog who excavates scrapes in the lawn to cool off and digs out lizards leaving a crater each time. What holds the interest in this poem is the way you describe the emotions of both you (irritated) and the dog Molly (hoping she's going to get off lightly). A real down to earth poem (if you'll pardon the expression) and a winner in my book.
Best wishes, Peter

Dogs who tend to dig holes in the yard are a bane to many a dog owner. This was an interesting read. May your day be blessed with joy, peace and love for your journey.

I love the photo that you choose to go with your poem it is a perfect match
It wasn't digging holes that got me, it was making a path running around the fence that was just as bad a dig.
It cost a nice penny to get repaired and yes Tip-toe gave me those big boy doggy eyes every time.
