I am still thinking of twilight. Bongo is on my mind as well. Is he a Familiar? (I think that is the right term.) I suspect I will be finding out very soon. :-)

I hope they find Bongo before they leave for their new home. It's not good to leave a pet behind. Such excitement as they make their new adventure to a new beginning in life.

Maggie packing and moving--things I remember well.

In the days of two 70 lb. bags per person, one time we flew to Thailand with fourteen foot locker trunks and nineteen pieces of hand luggage for two adults and five children. Those were the days.

One old man commented on me and the luggage, "There goes the Queen and all her stuff!" ha ha

I see I mist have read this chapter before and here we go again. Good chapter again. Seeing more of your penchant for fantasy and dreams coming through. It had taken me a while to figure some of that out. No spags. Looking forward to seeing how far a long I can get in the catch-up.

Loved the following..."She could hear the eye roll through the wall."

The dialogue is well realistic and consistent.

I picked up a few points:
There was a bit more rustling around behind the door followed by thump - did you mean 'a thump'?

She heard the tapping rhythm of his shoes against the back of the lower cabinets increase just in the slightest with his words and had to smile to herself. He was trying so hard to grow up. - I might have written this as 'She heard the slightest increase in the tapping rhythm of his shoes against the back of the lower cabinets and had to smile to herself.'

She pushed herself to move toward the door already falling back into her protective mode - comma after 'door'

She tussled his hair - should be 'tousled'

Best wishes
Judy

Good story. I enjoyed your story, it was well written and had great dialogue. I can't wait to find out what is going on with the mystery ghost cat. I look forward to reading the rest.

Hey, there, sir, and thanx for dropping in for a read on this one! :) Too bad you just missed the 'book deal' I bought at the end of last week for bonus points to 'catch up'!! :) But, don't worry, you'll settle in (hopefully) soon! ;) ;) My mom's in for a visit this week so, I'm a bit behind on the next release, but it'll be out soon enough ... again, thanx for the review and know that you are welcome to stop by anytime! ;) Take care out there! ;) Yvette

Oh, so sad about the cat. But that often happens with cats because they hate moves. I like how you added the parenting tips into this. We do need to give our kids move to grow up into their own level of independence. Hope Bongo comes back just in time!

Yeah...just hang in there for Bongo...he's not gone (I don't think - lol!) :) Thanx for the review, Professor -- always so good to hear from you... I am so enjoying my mom being here, but am looking forward to getting back to some serious writing soon! ;) ;) Take care! ;) Yvette

Yvette,

Fabulous chapter. I've missed a lot but I adore this relationship and the perceptive nature of this care-giver. And I love, love, love the slightly unearthly and totally unexplained nature of that cat that's not around - but maybe is?

hahaha! Great work! Thanks!

A fantastic continuation chapter Yvette. It was great when you included the part about Maggie's research regarding Addy's growth periods and changes. I am now wondering if Bongo is not a special cat with special abilities. It is nice that Maggie seems to be always thinking ahead for the considerations she has for Addy. Well done and very much enjoyed.

Thanx so much for the in-depth review here, Ali -- in addition to spinning my fantasy yarns, I do so enjoy fully developing my characters so that as more and more 'other-worldly' things may be revealed about them, they are still very relatable as 'folks' to the readers! ;) ;) Thank you for noticing and you have a great week! ;) ;) Yvette

A very well-written well-written chapter. The excitement of the move kicked in but the cat is gone and will hopefully be found before they have to leave.
