Aw, Yvette!
Thank you ever so much for your excellent rating and complimentary review!
It is just a humble offering, but June 30th is "our day." And with our last name of "Truelove," well, I just had to write to celebrate the fact that true love can exist!
Thank you again! I so enjoy penning your creation of "Even to Odd" poetry! Such a challenging but rewarding format!
Take Care!

Nice, and well done. If I was your sweetie, I'd feel very honored by this. What a wonderful 40th anniversary gift. That photo silhouette is the perfect image to accompany the poem, too.
Thank you for sharing it!

Time flies, specially when love is true . I hate to count a happy married life by the number of years we are together. The yardsticks are happiness and sincerity true to each other. Let the years go by, but let happiness last.

Hello Benny!
I love your "yardsticks!" And I agree; however, the contest prompt called for a date in June that means something special = June 30, 1979 = 40 years this year. Here's to lasting happiness regardless of the year stamped! :)
Thank you!

This meets the contest requirements beautifully. The rhyme and meter are solid allowing the read to be fluid ad serene. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

No regrets. No looking back.
Hearts still full, feeling
completely
loved...
What can I say friend... I know exactly how you feel, but our(my wife and I) journey has still along way to go hopefully. We are only 26 years together, but still madly and deeply in love with one another : )
Excellent poem!

I was not familiar with this form of verse; is it a FanStory creation? Yours is a wonderful tribute to love and to your spouse and to the forty years you will have shared together at the end of this month. Well done.

This poem is very well done. I like best how each line is complete, and how your first and last words are synonymous. The narrator has had a lot of those last days in June and still finds them significant remembrance days so that is the fascinating focus here. I think that "arrives with soft flourish" is the phrase most beautiful here.
