Hi Author! This is definitely a different take on a bowling poem... and you're 1,000% right... Thank God for Rhymezone! I couldn't live here without it! A very unique offering! :)

Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment. One of my reviewers suggested using fanstory was cheating. I see it as a great service to writers

HA!!! Is about all I've got to say about that! Whomever said that is obviously not a writer, and most likely never will be or they would take advantage of a fantastic teaching tool this can be. I've gotten more from FS than I have from some writing courses. As to things like Rhyme Zone, any writer will use every tool available to them. Just like a warrior. You can't win if you leave your best weapons in the chest!

A very well-written poem about bowling the biggest challenge was to find words that rhyme with bowling, but it seems you had a jolly time at rhymezone to find these well-rhyming words.

Dear Author, I enjoyed your contest entry on "Scrolling and Bowling". Your rhyme was great and your verses worked well! I also take a break from writing from time to time--because of deadlines, and I am happy you are writing again!
My best in the contest, Deborah

Thank you Deborah. I think we all need a spell from time to time. I know when I've completed a manuscript, I give myself a break by attempting poetry. After about six months I then start tossing ideas around in my brain. A month or two later I start a new work.

This is very good. Good luck in the contest. I hope you finish in second place. I would say first place, but I also entered this contest so I have a vested interest.

Thank you Tom. I would be happy with your suggestion, but a whole lot happier if the positions were reversed

Ha... you did it! Lots of rhyming with bowling... And you achieve the end point where it's better to score with the girls then the bowling ball... LOL this is a great entry for the writing prompt I wish you good luck :-)

Thank you Nanny. My scoring in bowling was low, but my scoring with girls was non-existent. Such is life.

Such a fun offering for this contest that takes the 'bowling' motif and uses it as both setting and metaphor... fun! ;) ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;) :)

I like the way your poem undermines itself by admitting to using help - and then flaunts the results. The problem with letting rhymes control the content is that a continuous thought can be hijacked by the available rhyme. Nevertheless it's an original idea. If you read it aloud you may see that there is uneven rhythm in some lines that don't scan. I found they tended to trip up the tongue when reciting it. Most enjoyable. I could see your wry smile in every line. More!

Thank you for reading and reviewing my entry. Personally I don't see using Rhymezone as a flaunting of the rule. To me it's no different to using a dictionary for ensuring accurate spelling.

Such aids can be consoling, though sometimes quite controlling.
I'd be with you in extolling their worth to catch a rhyme.
I'll often go out trolling, it helps to get things rolling,
My muse finds it amusing, and it doesn't half save time.
