It's been said that writing--whether it be poetry or prose--is some of the best therapy there is.
I would tend to agree with that assessment.
At the very least, writing is constructive. It is creating something out of nothing using just our imagination, with a gentle nudge from our respective muses, of course.
I wish you continued success in all of your future writing endeavors.

I think this is a fine no nonsense description which is a great entry for this fun contest.
Confess I got a little lost with the word choice ( alacrity?) and rhyme in the second stanza although the meaning is clear.
Spot on in the final verse.

I appreciate your candor about the awkward rhythm in Stanza Two and have now changed it. Does that seem better? (I kept alacrity, though, which means 'willing readiness.')

But, the poem.... I really enjoyed it, it's nice and bouncy and I love your gentle humour. Nice touches of alliteration and good use of enjambment makes your poem flow :)
