Very nicely done. Clever rhyming and a photo that expresses what the poem's words portray. It's a story I can relate to as I'm edging up to your Dad's age and have many of the same feelings you express on his behalf. Good work. Best to you.

Great poem on age. Terrific rhyming throughout. All lines were smooth and fit together nicely. At 90 your Dad looks great. Wish him continued good health.

I absolutely love this one! The counting blessings instead of years I am going to remember from here on in, and I love the line that reads "tell that to my arthritic knee." HAHAHAHAH.

Your dad looks VERY fun, from that genuine smile to the merry twinkle in his eye. You are right: you are VERY blessed to have him still in your life.

Wonderful poem. (How did he like it, btw?) Best of luck in the contest. This is a front-runner in my book. xo

I actually haven't shown it to him yet but will this weekend. Technically, it's not about him- I searched for pictures to accompany the poem then said "why not Dad?" Kinda sorta autobiographical, since you'll never hear him complain about anything. Thanks for the kind words!

This is a nice simply written ode too your father who looks very spry and happy in the picture. I think his attitude is great. I see you used knee for the rhyme. Just a bit of poetic license.
Good luck and keep writing

So they prompted four rhyming couplets about aging, of unspecified meter. looks like you nailed it, and yes, in the firstworld lands we are living much longer...but the median age is still 24.3 years...excellent post.

What a lovely smile your father has. This is an excellent poem for the Age contest. My mother always used to say, age is just a number, even though she was like your dad. I enjoyed your poem with the fun quips in it. Well done and good luck. :)) Sandra xx

This is very brilliant. I like the content of the poem. It argued the common claim people make about age being just a number. Age really isn't just a number, it counts in most cases. However in terms psychology and mental ability age may not count. No wonder you will find a 5year old kid behaving very maturely like a 25yr old grown up. I have such circumstance with me as I know of such 5yr old girl with a full grown up maturity level. In this case age truly is just a number.

I like your rhyming skill too. It's a brilliant job you have done.

Quite nice! Although I'm quite a bit younger than your dad, I can relate to the arthritis and difficulty getting up. You might say,"smile a young smile through my tears." to keep the flow going.

Excellent. I enjoy the optimism and reality expressed in the poem. Love the count blessings rather than years line. I have rheumatoid arthritis and can relate to everything mentioned in the poem. Appreciate the notes and the picture of your Dad. Hugh
