I love what you have done here, perhaps the connection to the Lauper song is part of it. One of my favorites. Great choice of artwork! The poem itself is fantastic. My husband is forever reminding me we should live in the joys of each living day as they are numbered. Your phrase "time is now, not then" jumps out and grabs me. I tend to keep waiting for the big event and the big event is happening by the moment. This is very well written and the overall effect is fantastic.

A clever look at Time and the ways we think and speak about it. I recently heard Cyndi's song on the radio and learned that she got the title from a TV Guide listing of movies; she didn't know it referred to a wonderfully-romantic scifi film based on HG Wells' The Time Machine.

Hi there, I seem to remember the song. But I may be wrong. I'll look it up. I loved your poem about love and time, and I adore the painting from Dali. I'm a great admirer of his art. Good luck. All best. Ulla:))

You have good use of alliteration, and allusion. And some onomatopoetic words. I especially like your last stanza. you have an amusing use of different sources. How appropriate that you employ snipets of song lyrics. Music is very significant in relationships, beginning them, ending them and grieving the loss. This is cleverly orchestrated.

Dear Author,
I enjoyed your excellent, well-written poem about time. I also loved your last line and Dali's, "...Memory"! His time pieces may morph through time but our memories persist, and thus, so does our 'true' love.
Thank you for sharing this poem. Deborah

I really enjoyed your poem for various reasons: Like you, I find myself thinking about time very often in regards to relationships; also I love the Dali painting you have used, I love Virgil, and I love Cyndi Lauper's song Time after Time (but especially Girls just wanna have fun!)
I like your alliteration here; With each precious and sensual sound sent soaring

This is a great poem in the argument of time, I think time is an anomaly in the fabric of infinity. And it can't determine returning to a specific event, moments stand alone, and have their own personality. A beustifully written piece, with the oft said. Love is the only constant, I guess sin could be added to that, but I think hate can't last, it destroys itself, well done great non set meter, quatrains and abab rhyming, well done, blessings Roy

All the short 3 word sayings in the poem elude to time melting away like the melting clocks in the artwork also how love doesn't melt away.
Good luck and keep writing
