Hello Jaybird,
You've written an excellent poem and tribute for your poet friend
one lost to us, but not to the ages
for words have subtle ways of staying
and who knows when the wind may choose to whisper
those immortal words she keeps within her arms.

I am very sorry for your loss, and I also know what it is like to lose someone who is extraordinary and has the gift of poetry. It is hard to know that someone with such admiration among you has passed as I am sure there are friends here that you are unaware that have as well. Also, I know as we age we will lose more on our journey as it continues. I believe this was a great Threnody for your friend. I wish I had a 6 to offer, but I will offer my Virtual Six for you. I will not say my normal ending because I know what mourning someone is like and I wholeheartedly am very sympathetic to this situation. Fonda

This is a beautiful tribute, Jaybird1, which your friend would enjoy for its perfect cadence and rhyme. Plus the words you chose to describe him (his writing skills were meant to be/ filled with great depth and imagery.) I'm sorry, though, that he is no longer with you, physically. xo

A lovely tribute! A modern sonnet form? As a poet, he was extra lucky to have you as a friend. I'm curious, did you ever challenge each other in your writing? I have a long-distance friend whom I've known for many years and we inspire and critique each other's mysteries.
