This is quite stirring! The poem leaves a bit of mystery as to what the emotion is and good poetry often does that. I like it that you did not offer a full explanation of this in author notes. Well done to match the artwork!

What a beautiful poetic expression of love and loyalty. I love the idea that the right words, from the right person, can ease pain. My only question, and it's a matter of personal opinion, is whether it might sound even more romantic to say:
With our love we will defend
Each other's lives until the end
I just wanted to throw that in for your consideration. Either way, it's a lovely poem.

I'd say you did full justice to the picture! The rhyming couplets capture the emotions present in the picture well. It is quite appealing and relatable. I really liked the ending, which is hopeful. That's what love is about.
