So is the narrator human or a fairy? Of course, I don't know if the handsome motorbike dude is human either.
You described everything really well right on the border between reality and fantasy.
I didn't know what this sentence meant:
"until I hear Ariel's song of call to shelter for the night."

The call that would have all the fairies gather in for the night... I guess there's too much danger for such petite beings out after dark.. :) ;) ;) The picture tells you exactly who they are - although it's there in the text, as well. :) ;) ;Thanx for the review, Helen -- always enjoy hearing from you! ;) ;) Take care!

I'm going to love this one, Yvette. You had my rapt attention from the get go. I love your humming skin and singing hair, but my favorite description is that of the laughter. "A smile that came from deep inside of me and could only escape after it splashed itself all over my face." That is just fun to read.
The thing that I like the very best though is how you tease the reader with your plot. I know you, and I know this is fantasy, so I kept thinking what is going on. This is not a girl out jogging.
I can't believe you have the complex plot of two books in you. Well, I know you, and I guess that I do believe it. You are awesome, and I look forward to reading this second book in the future.

Hello Beautiful B'ham Friend!! I am just taking time to breathe again... did some writing on Maggie today and had to make myself stop to fix some supper for the ones still home!! ;) :) Thank you so very much for this AWESOME review... and, you're not gonna believe this (or maybe you will since you know how my mind does strange things sometimes - lol!), but when I first 'paid to enter' this contest, I was thinking I could use it as a way to sortof 'advertise' my one already in work (Maggie)... but, as I went to post late Friday night, I thought: "you know, they always say you're note supposed to 're-post' anything... hmmm." So, instead, I let my fingers fly on the next idea I've got swimming around in my blonde brain and here it is (you'll note I haven't even named the characters yet!)! Just as soon as I finish Renaissance of Enchantment for Maggie, this one's next....who knows? Now that Chapter One's on paper, I could take a 'brain break' once in while (Maggie's is very 'epic' in the number of characters I have to keep track of - lol!) and write another chapter on this one! :) ;)
I do hope this means you're feeling better...? When's the wedding? I'll check in in the morning before I launch into another marathon writing session! ;);) Take care, ma'am! ;) ;) Yvette

I'll check on your posts everyday my prolific friend. It boggles my mind how much you could write if you had no other obligations.

Wow-excellent beginning- your first poetic words drew me into your story. This is not a genre I have experienced since very early years. However, you have managed to put in setting, dialogue, tension, and suspense. Great beginning.

Well, Ma'am is there anything you can't do expertly?!! I don't review chapters for anyone, but I can tell this would be the start of a 6 star book. You have literary talent in my view.
Hugs, Trisha

Hello Yvette!
You, my friend, are an incredibly talented writer! Is there any genre you have not explored?
I am hooked! And I am not certain that is a good thing, as I have loads of perennials to plant and weeds to pull! :)
Your well-crafted work flows well and engages the reader from the very beginning.
So enjoyable!
Kudos!

I like that you like the escape that comes from writing in another realm. Motivated by entering a fantasy world, I've always loved other worlds, with strange, magical creatures inhabiting them, I've read all the the very great science fiction and fantasy masters, I once had the best collection of these stories ever conceived, Tolkien, CS Lewis, Wyndham Asimov, Herbert and co, and yet my own personal writing genre is completely different, you ought to read a lady onsite called by the pen name of scongove, (Shana) she'll curl your buns. Well done Yvette, an excellent story, blessings Roy. ,

Romantic, magical and otherworldly, Miss Yvette. I liked this and so unlike most of your writing, but yet, full of the creative style I see in you. I liked this very much and look forward to the continuing contributions.
Always my best,
Sal xo
