Lovely TriQuatrain Yvonne, and we can really hear the joy of being out in the rain in this one. Love the final line -the drops the angels kissed.
Great job with this one,
cheers,
valda

This is really beautiful Damommy! You make we the readers want to get outside in a rainstorm like little children and enjoy the drizzling. I love the beautiful and very descriptive wording that you've used. I like the words that talk about not yielding to that shield because you wanted to experience the full affect. This is really good writing and I enjoyed reading this. Well done!

Hello Yvonne,
Isn't bumbershoots a great word, not British either. I wonder who first coined it?
Love your Triquatrain poem with the internal-external rhyme scheme,
but it's the "feel" of the words that matches the experience of the rain
that elevates the poem.
We share a love of the rain. I like to see it, hear it, taste it, smell it and feel it.
One of my favorite topics to write about and read about, and that about sums it up.
Six raindrops.
(I saved a six knowing you would write about raindrops.) :)
Robert

Ahh, Yvonne, the drops the angels kissed. It's the very last line in your lovely poem and I loved it. It's so very poetic. It's a beautiful contribution to the Potlach. A joy to read. Warm regards. Ulla:)))

I'm doing great. And so I hope you are. I became a grandmother for the third time in February, and I enjoy my new life in my new home. xx

That's good to hear. We haven't had any new additions since the last great-grandchild. I'm enjoying life in my old home. hahaha Good to hear from you.

Excellent job on the form - and on the subject - keeping it all in line with the theme. I don't like the hassle of carrying a bumbershoot. Gets in the way. Nicely done and good last line. Interesting to read the origins of the word "bumbershoot". I like the word anyway.

I've used 'bumbershoot' for years. I like to see the puzzled faces of some people. hahaha. I agree that umbrellas are a nuisance. They turn into a wrestling match. Thank you for reviewing.

This poem is full of optimism. I like its cheerfulness.
However, I'll keep on using my umbrella, even though I like rain.
Thanks so much for sharing this feel-good post.

Clever, humorous, and very well-written. Also, very down to earth, except for "the drops the angels kissed."
(Maybe that's for a fantasy poem.)

Maybe, but I like to think of raindrops that way. Thank you for a great review. I really appreciate it.

The sentiment expressed here is creatively written! You have a perfect timed rhythmic flow throughout. It certainly does make me want reconsider an umbrella. We all as children love to play in the rain and then our parents condition us to use an umbrella as we grow up! This takes me back to the days of innocent freedom! Very well done!

This is a beautiful well written poem. I have no more six stars to give, sorry. I too love to be out in the rain, in warm weather of course. I like the way you describe how you feel in the rain. Very good poem, good work.

Hi, Yvonne. I have not heard the term "Bumpershoot" in ages. Don't hyou just love that word?

I liked this poem a lot, especially this stanza, my friend:

"It feels so cozy as I mosey
from my humble nest,
while an umbrella, my dear fella,
spoils what I like best."

Good job. Bless you. Bob

Thank you. I'm so glad you like it, and that you knew what a bumbershoot is. I use it all the time. I love using words my grandmother used and that I grew up with. Thanks for pointing out what you liked best.
