No good deed goes unpunished! How many times does this happen...when our best intentions are met with a cold shoulder. You've said it all in your 50 words. Well done!

I am LOL on this one. A similar thing happened to me. I thought the lady would hit me with her umbrella. Sometimes our intention for a good deed falls totally flat. Great entry for the contest. Marilyn

Sometimes it seems you just can't win with people. To have your head bit off just because you were kind enough to offer some help. This is why fewer people attempt to lend a hand to those in need.
You see the truth in the hand that reaches out.

A piece of flash fiction that punches a combination of humor and social comment with the last sentence. I may be missing something, but do you need to tie a chair to a mobility scooter? Don't they already come equipped with a seat. Or am I going in the wrong direction with this?.
Good luck with the competition :)

Hi Alex :) Thanks for your feedback and the good luck wishes, I appreciate both... The scooters do come with a seat! This guy was trying to tie another chair to the front of his scooter with a bungee cord! Nothing so strange as folk! The 50 words didn't stretch far enough for me to include this info - thanks for asking for clarification :)
Best wishes...:)

Wow! Sometimes our sincere offer of compassion gets hurled back in our faces. I suppose most people have had similar experiences; they can be disconcerting! Your writing is very well-done and to the point--as 50-word writings have to be!

A real-life example of Never Let A Kind Deed Go Unpunished. Oh well, kudos to you for trying. And it HAS made for a really good entry in the contest! xo

-Good image.
-Your note is appreciated.
-Sometimes, you just can't win!
-I like how you begin
with the question to the man.
-You obviously see he is
having difficulty.
-I like the description of
how he looked at you.
-He certainly had a
tart reply, but maybe he
gets asked that all
the time and wants
to be left alone.
-But there is such
a thing as being polite!
-A good ending that
probably didn't make
your day, but maybe
winning the contest will!
-Good luck.

I read the story which was well written then I read your note which made me laugh. That was well done. 50 word stories are hard to tell. Well written

This takes on so much more significance once the reader learns the story is TRUE. One wonders how much more comfort this non-walker can add to such a vehicle. Rod
