How wildly beautiful you describe children running free without a care in the world. Indeed, you describe abuse and neglect so many victims suffer. It's such a shame, but your poem is such a happy joyful poem. WELL DONE. lolol liberty justice

Liberty Justice: you need to see and/or read, 'The Shack'. It is about Heaven, the Trinity and my poem depicts the children's Heaven. livelylinda

"Children of the Meadow", is an extremely well-written and heart-warming piece. This talented poet's work was a delight to both read and review. To me, this is definitely a six. I look forward to seeing your next post.

This is a beautiful write, just beautiful. But it avoids any hint of maudlin sentimentality. In fact only at the end, with that gentle line, do not mourn, is there a direct reference that the children have passed from this life.
This poem was a pleasure to read and review.
Blessings, Julia

Hello livelylinda
I love your poem about you running in a grassy meadow.
I don't think you should say green grassy, think about it that grass is the hue of green

I'm very fond of meadows, and knew I'd love this poem. It is a beautiful thought to think of the sweet children running free and unburdened but so sad to think of their mistreatment. I love how you did this.

Hi, Linda.
I haven't heard from you in awhile, I guess you're not able to get on as much as you used to.
What's it been, about a month since your last post?
Anyhow, regardless of that, this is a very poignant post.
It breaks my heart to think of children dying way before their time, even if they are in Paradise with the Holy Trinity.
I too believe Heaven for kids is a lot like it's portrayed in the film, The Lovely Bones...
It's nice to see you're back and be able to read your work again.
Take care.

Thank you, Dean. A lot of health issues during the last couple of years. A few good days now and then so I write and revisit this site. Hope this finds you well as can be. Linda

This is a beautiful interpretation of what heaven must be like with children there! You express their innocence joy perfectly. I can truly see them frolicking about! Very good work!

If this is a poem about children who died, which I think it is, and could have been maudlin, which it isn't, I find it touching, and ironically positive.
Nice work, Linda!

I love the image this poem evokes. I really feel for the young kids today already stressed with life by 10 years old. It doesn't seem that long ago when I was growing up and we were so free to explore and play and figure out problems with other kids. Now with video games and predators and bullying, they spend a lot of time inside, well protected. Cheers, j

judester, it isn't always safer being inside when you are a kid, and I speak from experience. Thanks for reading and commenting. Linda

This poem is similar to a dream - a safe non-threatening space. The images are vivid and captivating. The rhythm is smooth and enhances the tone and theme. Nice work.
