The meadows offer freedom like no other place on earth. Children glory in the countryside because as you say, they are unencumbered. A joyful poem that applauds nature. Well done.

This poem is based on the book and movie, 'The Shack', and it is about what Heaven might actually be like. It isn't about nature, it is about a child's eternal happiness when they go to Heaven. Thanks for reading. You should see the movie, 'The Shack'. livelylinda

Thank you for letting me know about the movie.

An excellent free verse that made me recall the old hymn, "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be." Very well supported by magnificent artwork, it brings the prayers of mankind over the centuries into focus.

I think this came out really well. I loved the lighthearted, yet poignant, touches to the voice here, capturing the innocence of the children, but also casting a shadow over it with all the things that poisoned them; predators, abuse, fears around those corners. It's colorful and descriptive, and we really see those kids free and enjoying the world, kicking off their shoes and running around in the grass. A great vision of that heaven for children. Jesus said; "If you do not enter the kingdom of heaven as one of these children, you cannot enter it at all." estory

Most of the time when you see "children in heaven" it's part of a story of a child who has died. In this case, the focus is on the place and it's described as a safe haven, unlike the hazardous real world.

No sixes left. I am sorry. I also have read the book. It is a great source of inspiration, I agree. The overall effect of this is stunning. The picture is quite an asset to your beautiful poem. The poetry is exceptional in every respect, from word and topic choice to format to the love it is written with and the hope it gives others. This is a superior piece of work, one of the best I've ever read on this site and just know I would shower you with stars if I could.

Hello Livelylinda,
Nice piece of poetry transparently depicting its theme.
Lucid and perfectly matching the theme wording.
Smooth and captivating flow throughout from the beginning to the end.
Picture enhances beauty of the poem.
These lines are particularly noteworthy:
"no abuse, neglect, fears to face,
no predators around every corner
just innocent children feeling the sun's warmth
upon their blissful faces"
