A pleasant poem of love. But was it just a dream. Blessed are those who hold onto such love for a lifetime. such love takes work on the part of both parties.

Hi Diana: I am no hand at writing romantic poems. I'm not good at writing a lot of things but I'm really no good at writing romantic poems. I like this one very much. This certainly struck me as a dream scene as you wrote it. In the last stanza and the last two lines I read them over a few times to myself. To my tin ear, I liked it without the word "still." That was just my own preference. It is a wonderful poem. -Robert-

I enjoyed reading your lovely poem about
a love that is remembered, and treasured
even though the person is no longer here.
Dreams can seem so real and bring comfort long after the
sun awakens the dreamer.
Good luck in the contest.

I love this, in particular the last stanza. For some reason, I like short lines, so that's one of the things I like about your poem.
Very romantic and well-written.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much! I think short line poems are easier for one to read and follow myself! Even though more complicated poems are often beautifully done, I think shorter lines appeal to a far wider crowd of poetry lovers :). Have a blessed day!

Sometimes while waking the brain and body forget that the one who should be beside you is long dead...hopefully children, new love or career are there to fill the yawning emptiness....I might have made this octameter couplets rather than short lines...not significant, just a thought...excellent poem.

What a lovely romantic poem this is. I'm not sure whether it was a dream or reminiscing about the night before, either way it provoked very happy feelings of love and I really enjoyed reading it. Take care. Jen.

Thank you so very much! I?m so happy you are able to see it both ways! This was not my intention, but I?m thrilled it is perceived that way! You may choose which ever idea you like :).

Sometimes we have dreams that feel so real we can convince ours selves that they were and other times things can happen that are so intense and moving we can wake and think it was a dream. Your poem works either way as far as I can see. Very nice indeed !

A very well-written poem about the morning after the love making of the night, when we look back at how we were treated we know we are loved and we love too.

The sunlight woke you up in the morning but you continued remembering the love moments and how you loved her all those days in her absence; well said, well done. Write to inspire, change -- DR ALCREATOR
