I understood the first piece of your poem. I'm not a free verse fan, For some reason I'm having a hard time assimilating "happy days" with the rest of the poem. It's not a combination I can buy into.

Hello Jean,
You've written an excellent poem of the nature of happiness.
Would it be happy days if one or both had to change to be together?
Maybe yes, maybe no. Sometimes opposites attract.
Much depends on the individuals, free as a bird or tied to one another.
Well done
Robert

Thanks for sharing this poem about the possibility of happier days. Sounds like the main character definitely has some good memories, but wishes for even better ones. Have a great day! Bill
