hi there,
to be honest, when I opened this I had that feeling of "am I really going to be that useful here" as I have missed most of the story, I came what, three parts ago.
but here are my notes for whatever they're worth.
few hiccups
"life 'cause the Powers sorta took them memories away " not sure powers needs to be capitalised, but if it's a consistent thing, no problem.
"Then to be told that Mildred was his great-great-grandmother had him so bemused (that) he decided he would look these facts up on the internet."
so, I guess this all ties up relationships between these characters, that they've been together for so long and Mildred has finally revealed exactly who she is. I don't know the context leading up to this point, so can't really comment if it works or not, but that's how I read it. Is that about right?
The Admiral seems to have had a suitable ending too, a somewhat sad ending, but I guess he was a bad guy, so all good.
I may be mixing you with another author, I'm going to have to go back and check if a niggle I had is relevant or not. I won't mention it until I've been able to confirm it is in your story though, and unfortunately I have to go out. - remind me this is here by pm if I don't come back to it soon.
Otherwise, fine read, good relief in the air, friendship. it seems they haven't lost much on the way, but again, coming in so late, I may have missed all of that.
I can't say much else without reading the whole thing, I apologise for the half review, but if any of this is helpful, great, I guess.

Thank you for reading this part and for putting in your thoughts. Yes, it would be very difficult to assess this part without having read at least the whole of this book, but preferably the three books in the series as they were all linked but with each having a stand-alone story. The Admiral's ending will please all the readers who knew him and what he did to Gladys, his wife whom he murdered.
