My grandmother, during the Depression, made practically all of her three daughters clothing. Your tyburn poem makes me think of this great lady and the work she did for her family. Your words bring back pleasant memories.

I'm glad it reminded you of your mother. Mine too sewed all the family clothes... I never had her skill or dexterity.

He he he, this is another sewing disaster and I have had a few of those and this poem made me smile! I love the alliteration and I could hear the scissors snipping away, love Dolly x

It seems this poem is speaking to a few unskilled sewers! (and I don't mean toilet drains)

Oh God, this reminded me of how incredibly CRANKY I get when sewing!! I laughed fit to p myself at your ripping, flipping mess! This is also a pretty rigid poetry form, but you managed to soften it with that humorous image of shreds of material everywhere. Great job!

Me too!! That's why I wrote it when I saw the picture... it triggered my frustration. I'm good at straight lines.

LOL
Your talent as a seamstress isn't lost --
that's if you're interest is being bossed
by ladies with a tendency to snick
those stitches out before they make 'em sick...

So that's why everything falls apart... I've been sabotaged by stitch-snickers!

LOL. Yup.

You put a lot of thought into this poem and you explain how you did it too. I thought the picture should be that of a girl, but I guess it doesn't really matter. The idea is there. I think you are going to do well in your contest. Good job!
