What a great idea to focus on life presenting joy through laughter and inviting grandmother to share her life and things that meant something to her. Grandmothers hold so much wisdom from their own experiences and heeding that wisdom can only benefit the listener which was well communicated hereš?„°

I agree. Grandmothers ARE pretty amazing. Both of mine sure were. Too bad they have both gone and left me now. --sigh-- But I can't complain, I had them for a good, long while. Wow. Was I blessed!
This is a sweet post - but I would actually characterize it more as a slice-of-life moment than a real story - with a beginning, middle and end. Sorry! Hope I'm wrong. Good luck!

The sentence "He asks for her permission to tell him about her life back when she was young" is awkward. Don't you think it would be smoother if it read "He asked her to tell him about her life when she was young?" You could have saved word for elsewhere that way.

You managed to fit a lot into your 75 words. Grandmother offers sound advice to a young person who feels the whole world is against home. We need to nurture these relationships as we are on this earth for what is a relatively short time. I grew up without grandparents for the most part as we immigrated to Australia from the UK, but my bond with my grandfather was only broken at the end of his life. Even then, I treasure the memories we shared. Well written and thought provoking. PM
