I always thought that poem was so funny. You really changed it--into a horror story of science fiction. Great rhyme and surprise ending. Favorite part: the green bug crawling out of her ear.
Made me think of that movie: The Alien.

HAHAHAHA!!! OMG, what an imagination you have. Your poem evoke much hilarious imagery, and the ending is clever and adorable. Just what I needed as I call it a night (at almost 5:00 a.m.)

I'll be ba-ak. *grin*

    5am, you sound like me. I don't sleep and it 's killing me. Or will, my Dr did not have great news at my last appt so have to make some big changes. Sleeping should be one and it would be great if I could. Thanks so much, so glad you like my silly fairy tale. =} Rox

    Have you tried melatonin? I hear it's effective. Personally, it' my bad habits that cause my insomnia, so it's those I need to change!

    I have tired everything known to mankind, over the counter and prescriptions. They will work a few days, then stop. I did sleep great last night, which was wonderful. I will sleep good for a week every few months. I think I just get so wore out. It is a family thing, none of us sleep. ={

LOL! LOL! This story poem is great! I never wondered about what exactly it was that Chicken Little was screaming about falling from the sky. Now I know. LOL!! One suggestion below:

it bust((burst)) open, and she was about to skedaddle,

Enjoyed!

Well done Rox, an excellent tale of a little green bug that grew a hen then she was knocked over by the farmer ploughing his field. But later came back to life and the upshot was she was healed, and the bug crawled into the rich sod producing odd corn. Beautfully written in couplets and rhyming, well done, blessings, Roy

LOL Quite the different take on Chicken Little and Henny Penny. I think you could remove the * in front of the word pullet and just keep your author's note explanation. Otherwise, a great poem. Enjoyable read.

All the best,
Jan

I got a kick out of a variation of Chicken Little that never ever occurred to me. I had to laugh in a couple of spots. I haven't figured out what she ate but it made me chuckle so it worked. Nice humorous piece.

A very well-written fun poem about chicken little who seems to be a drama queen that makes a fuss about almost anything no matter how big or small she made it seems like the end of the world.

This was a funny poem, Rox. Thanks for the heads up on it. It was a nice afternoon bit of fun before a holiday. And I'll keep my eyes to the sky to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to me. Good job.

Rox, I say this in only the most loving way: you have the oddest imagination! However, that is what makes your fairy tales so much fun to read. You never know what to expect. I love that you turn what seems like a sad ending (Henny's death) into a happy one (her recovery), and then come back with the one/two punch of the six-foot corn cobs. This was a fun ride that I enjoyed very much.

    When my husband and I first met, we clicked immediately on our shared unusual (which sounds so much nicer than ?crazy?) sense of humor, so I can completely identify.

Aww, I'm so pleased she came back to life, Rox, I loved this story. I hope the corn still tastes like corn and not something weird from out of space!! Well done, my friend, this is a lovely children's story in a poem. :)) Sandra xxx
