This is an enjoyable poem in that the clock is an allegory for us. We are at some point in our life the pride and joy of someone and we are well put together as we tick along the road of life. But our parts do wear and slowly we become as the clock, rather useless. I'm taking a guess that that was your aim, right.

A good first stanza. A very good second stanza. A beautifully written third paragraph. You display how time effect even non-living object beautifully and the angst mood flow well.

No escape, law of Nature is incessant, natural and beyond anyone's control; the old clock once was proud family is no longer wanted today; well said, well done. Thank you for sharing -- DR ALCREATOR
