Wow, Roxanna, that's absolutely amazing.A man you once knew turned out to be a killer. How eerie is that? I loved your humour poem that ended being not so humorous. Kind regards. Ulla:)))

This is an excellent and funny poem. I would have to say it is silly, part of it anyway. It is perfectly all right to be funny occasionally. My four wonderful children say I'm that way all the time. I enjoyed reading your poem. Good job.

Okay - let's see a pic of you in tutu and tights, that would be silly and light. Jimmy Fallon is pretty good a silliness and acts like a drunk chipmunk on drugs at times.
I do understand, it's hard to find humor when you discover you were so close to someone that became a murderer. Seeing him on a real life TV show had to have been quite a shock. When you had lunch with him, I'll bet he acted normal and you couldn't have detected the monster within. If drugs weren't involved, Paul might not have gone crazy.
I find myself drawn to these real life murder mystery shows like 'Dateline', and the 'Justice' network and 'Escape'. They are much more interesting than the other stuff on TV.
Enjoyed your rhyming couplet poem which is thought-provoking from many different angles.
Cheer up - dance around in your tutu and tights - ;o)

Believe me, you wouldn't want to see the tutu picture. Not that I have one. =} Yes, I have watched so many of those shows I think I have learned how to kill without getting caught. Just kidding. You always get caught. Thanks so much.

A very well-written poem about the influence of drugs in the lives of ordinary people that makes them so desperate to have those drugs that they will kill if they can't get it.

Hi Roxanna,
Silliness is such an important part of life... of being sane.
Sometimes just writing what you think or feel as a means of clearing negative energy is very healing.
Anyway, just keep on writing.
Blessings
Shirley

It's funny, despite having a great life with a wife and kids, he does crazy things. As a once alcoholic, it's the addiction that controls you, one does imcomprehensibly stupid things, I understand, but don't condone it, fortunately God got hold of me, I gave up overnight. That was 35 years ago. Beautifully written Rox, in lovely rhymed couplets and on triplet, well dine, blessings, Roy
Solution : The "As" come from writing notes offline or on "word" hen cutting and pasting, you have edit them out on FS.

I thought he was a Christian, he went to a Christian college, he worked for a Christian org, he had problems, I could see that, but I never thought he would do this. He seemed so in love with his wife and kids. So sad. It was such a weird feeling to see him on TV like that. A friends grandson was also part of a Dateline show, his girlfriend disappeared and the poor kid lived under suspicion for years until one day, a state away a man reported that his neighbor had a rented moving truck in his drive way with a cord running out to it. Turns out the truck was stolen, when searched, inside was a freezer and in the freezer was the girlfriend. He had her for years. What the heck is wrong with people. Why would you keep someone in a freezer for years? But at least the family knew what had happened to her and the boyfriend was no longer blamed. Truth really is stranger than fiction. Thank you Roy. being a Christian guarantees nothing, but there are many who love God.

A rare and enlightening peek into the real you. I enjoy a good murder mystery, too, and actually writing one right now here on FanStory. It's as much fun to write as read, maybe more so. So sorry about your old friend. God was truly watching over you!
Always my best,
Sal xo

Have you posted your story yet? I don't think I have seen it. I just watched Dateline where a guy kills a girl he has been friends with for their whole lives, because she discovered money her mom had hid for her before her death. For money! And he had no remorse at all. Another she had known her whole life helped him!! Just 19, the rest of their lives in prison. What is wrong with people! Anyway, thank you, I'll be looking for your story. Rox

Rox, silly or not, you always manage to make me smile. You're the only person I know who can fit a story about a murderer into a poem about silliness and somehow make it work. You do always seem to find interesting stories to tell. My most interesting TV encounter was merely a woman I used to work with showing up on the news as a black activist. Perhaps I shouldn't have been all that surprised considering that, when I worked with her, she once put her own baby picture among those of our CEO's lily-white grandchildren.

Is she the one who had to resigned over it, was it in FL? What is wrong with people. Anyway, thank you dear. Rox

Believe it or not, she neither resigned nor was fired over it, but I understand the CEO was not amused. This happened at a company in NY. Beyond that, you're very welcome for the comments. I always enjoy reading your works, especially the "silly" ones, as you have such a fun sense of humor.

Wow - I see how your "silly" poem turned serious - guess we're made that way - to see the dark side more than the light. Oh my, you spent time with this guy - just cuz he was with a missy org. sure didn't make him right. I've known pastors who went off the rail - big time.
Good poem. You can try for "silly" another time.
