These are six very significant words. You haven't wasted a single one. It's so important to be there for our friends and family and easy to think all is going well when perhaps that's not the case.

The perfect 'to-do' list for the parents of today.... I'm afraid, however, that the focus of the items has become somewhat skewed for many parents.... A great one, Sir Bill... although I would suggest, perhaps, centering your words and removing the semi-colons...think the impact might be clearer... but, then again, this is just the crazy blonde so .... :) :) Yvette

To me, there is nothing more important than being there. Boyth as a mate and even more importantly a parent. I remember wondering what my dad was doing and where he was, was he thinking about me. I saw a movie base on a true story called "Antoine Fisher." A young man in the Navy kept getting into fights and he wound up in counseling. His problems stemmed from abandonment issues. He grew up in foster homes wher he had been abused. Near the end of the movie he met his biological mother and he asked if she ever thought about him, if she ever wondered if he was ok, if he had clothes or enough to eat. During the entire scene she just sat there silently crying. This was one of the most intense movie scenes I have ever witnessed. The actress who portrayed the mother was Viola Davis, a now Oscar winner, who at the time this movie was made was a virtual unknown actress.

That was a great picture and it was great that there was an eventual happy ending.

I am thrilled that you also saw the movie. It was a pretty good movie and all of the major actors have gone on to success, including that little known guy Denzel Washington. LOL

I am assuming you are talking about the relationships we have with our children? If so, I agree to the ninth degree. We can never do toooo much to help them or see to their needs and well-being. From the time our kids enter this world, they count on us to help them find their way. It hurts me to consider how many parents abdicate that role.
