Thank you so much, John, for popping in and having a read of my short six word poem. The world needs more uplifting messages. A new tv program perhaps - Uplifting News - instead of just the negative stuff we hear about all the time.
Have a great day in your neck of the woods. ~DD

Hi DD. I'm interpreting this to mean being true to self--not to get involved in anything that doesn't lead us to a satisfying place. Best of luck in the contest with this fine entry. Marilyn

Marilyn, thank you for your review. Perhaps six words were not enough to express this piece. Sometimes people offer empty gestures without meaning it or go through with things at a dishonest or half-hearted level. This poem is a message to live life with full interest and honest intent. ~DD

In other words be who you are, not try to live above yourself. You have to be happy, so just do it. Nicely stated for the contest

Hello Barb, thank you for your review. Perhaps six words were not enough to express this piece. Sometimes people offer empty gestures without meaning it or go through with things at a dishonest or half-hearted level. This poem is a message to live life with full interest and honest intent, and yes - to be happy. ~DD

Well, yes, why not? It sounds like a good idea. How the devil do they manage to judge these things. The contrast between living life to the full and that this can only be achieved if one does not make empty gestures is a clever use of the two key words.

Thanks, Jim for your review. I always smile at your struggle on short pieces - or perhaps just my play of words. ~DD

This sentence provides encouragement to embrace the fullness of experiencing life, with zest and energy, and not being shallow and insincere. So many people are lightweights who promise and don't deliver.

and a very good message
about living life to the

A very profound message in you six word poem, DD! Yes, so much of living can be full of "empty gestures" motions we go through without heart and without sincerity.
