How did I miss this gem? I send prayers up for you right now. I do know of this disorder. My stepfather had it and it ruined his marriage to my mother. He was Retired Marine Corp Major when he met and married my mom. He served in WW2 and the Korean War. My stepbrother, Steve, also suffered physical disabilities from Agent Orange exposure and died at 33 from throat cancer. I tell some of his story in Memories of Vietnam. Your art was telling of the great cost of war.
Always my best and thank you, again, for your service,
Sally

    This is an old poem that I wrote, it's about a friend. I rewrote it, corrected and posted it, for all those that see ghosts in the mirror. I cured my flashbacks by writing and making mistakes. I still have dreams, some good, some sad, and I write what I remember. It feels good. Glad you liked it. PTSD is waking up in the middle of the night yelling, lashing out at unknown enemies, jumping out of bed, seeing things not there, and hiding in a corner crying. Many make it to live normal lives, many are haunted by the past, many die, and many are in looney farms.

Cheers, PoetWatch;
> I accept your offer that all you want to do according to PoetWatch's Bio, and you wait for my smile. That's the most important thing, as being a writer, but I would continue to go forward with laughter, sorrow, interest, appalling, angst and discomfort and even horror.
>But also the most important things jumping out of the box of your reality and posting the reality of this mindfulness state of things around you and around others. Deciphering this unification of worldly conscientious common sense dictates a mindful perspective.There
>1st verse->comma before, "where"
>4th verse->comma after, "fears"
>5th verse 2nd line->"many ("A") dying friend." OR->, "many dying
freind("S"). (Plural)
>6th verse, comma after, "scream". OR-> "("of") the tears..." OR, "(that") the tears.." because if you eliminate using the articles "of" or "that" you need to use a punctuative symbol or comma.,
>6th verse, "My<(comma)", OR-> "My friends,...."
> Now, you're thinking to yourself, Who Am I, to overlook your statement of "The feelings are hot, my spelling diction and tense are not." Well all of the above is correct but your punctuation punctuation needs work and that wasn't listed in your quote.
>I never served, but all my friends have. I was strictly allergic to insect bites of time and government will pay for my desensitization. It was a lot. I feel guilty I haven't, but recognize the torture the Jews sacrificed with. I just wonder if many of you feel, and what you should get legal you everything for what you done, but I wonder if you don't think that a majority of the stuff you don't want to help. I think there's a few that don't, or don't care. All the friends here who have served I honor them, sometimes I feel it's the only thing on their mind, and I could understand why. It extremely' sad,one has to fall back on something so tragic, that's always undermined and constantly hunting them and you.
>Is usually often ignored and not even diagnosed but hopefully it's getting , In some respect.
>Beautiful in their memory, Poetic entry, Take care and have a good one especially with all those that love you dearly.

PS: I always pass on deducting for punctuation on the first or second read. Thank for you service, PoetWatch.

    Thank you Alx. :) I do have to change my Bio, but haven't got around to it. Your stay in school was very productive. I added comas. As for the "Blood" of many dying friend. I left it like that. Sorry to hear about your desensitization it must be terrible to be allergic and not to feel. I got over the flashbacks writing and making mistakes. I also went back to school in my late fifties to try to learn what many of my friends that stayed home learned. I'm still learning, but it's hard, but this old dog ain't giving up. :)

    Neither are we all, who value our own integrity! Bravo my friend, as I learn every day, anyway I can.
    >I think it should never stop after you go to school, learning.
    > Take care

Those are days of darkness and despair and your artwork sums it up beautifully. This was the price that was paid for freedom. Many broken families and households. I will say also, that their are many wars that were fought that our protectors should not have been sent to fight. I enjoyed this well written work. Thanks for sharing it. Well done!

A very well-written heartfelt poem. Only the soldiers know all the drama and trauma they go through on a daily basis where they fighting wars, but I can imagine it is not a picnic in the park.

This poem speaks so eloquently of what war can bring upon those who must fight in it. A beautiful tribute to those who have died, or those who still suffer from its effects. I find no fault in its writing, rhyming or telling. Best of wishes with this entry!

This a very graphic poem and I felt the flashbacks of the tour of duty. Your use of evocative language is innovative, conjuring up wonderfully vivid imagery.

Excellent. Wish I had six stars to give you, but I have used them all already. As the saying goes, "War is hell,
Been there done that. This is a very well written post,
with good rhyme.

The stress that soldiers suffer after war is as hard to deal with as war itself and as you say there is little sympathy or support for them. We know how our own experiences can affect our minds and it is ten times worse when the experience is witnessing death or being injured. Such fear torments these souls. Your poem makes us aware and highlights this tragic outcome of war, love Dolly x
