A person is never too old to find romantic love; don't give up hope! I'm so sorry to hear you had the experience of being rejected purely because of your age! That seems just a little unfair! At least you got the inspiration for a great poem out of it!

What a poignant look aging! The first couple of lines were almost like a slap in the face: "Dark days of sunshine/ cold shivers of warmth" and yet I'm sure that's how getting old feels to some. They remember when sunshiny days were warm and pleasurable, filled with swimming and youthful romance. As folks age, they aren't as likely to partake of these joys, and there's pain in remembering what life used to be like. Your poem is beautiful and well-done.

Thank you, Carla, for reading and commenting. The two people had shown interest in me and I liked both but upon hearing my age, they took off and didn't look back. I look almost 10 years younger than my actual age and I think it surprised them, thinking that they were getting a young woman!

This is a very well written poem about being too old to love. I think we should love all the days of our life here on this earth as Jesus told us. They may not all be romantic ones, but can be true loves from the heart. This is a very nice and well written poem with great descriptive words and lovely imagery from the art work.
