Well it is their loss. They are obviously not in the market for love. People are living longer all the time. My excuse is I found my love and no one could ever come close to making me happy. Besides I have my kids. My grandmother dated an man well into her eighties. A Mr. Walker. Love the picture. I'm rusty when it comes to dating but I wish you luck. Nancy:)

A very well-written heartfelt and sad poem about getting older. The market for loving couples seems to be outdated, if a partner dies we are no longer eligible for dating. Lol

Having recently turned seventy. The piece and photo made me ponder. My conclusion was; I have never felt love this strong before. It is an affirmation of seeds well planted. Thanks for the revelation.

Don't ever let anyone tell you that you are too old!
I am sure you would be loveable at any age.
There is no magic number only a feeling. There'll be someone for you, I'm sure. Maybe they are right under your nose.
They're the best ones. Usually when you are looking for it the least, it comes right at you the hardest and fastest LOL
Good luck either way and an engaging poem evoking sadness at the approach of old age and some of the negatives.

There is no magic number only a feeling. There'll be someone for you, I'm sure. Maybe they are right under your nose.
They're the best ones. Usually when you are looking for it the least, it comes right at you the hardest and fastest LOL

Many years ago, my mother, when only in her 50's, used to acknowledge her aches and pains quipping, "Old age ain't no joke." We all know it certainly isn't.
Don't lose heart, Linda. Actually, you're pretty young, for an old lady. Just be patient, because there are gazillions of geezers out there, and you will find some that please you.

This poem is a joy to read and celebrate each new day as we get older in number--age perception. I really like the last couplet spoke to me the most to cherish each new day. I really enjoyed reading this and had to reread it as it was such a good message and inspiration to keep going in life, and be thankful for each new day.

This is a wonderful poem that reminds us that at least someone loves us all the time. I don't think anyone is too old to love. As long as you can love, you can loved. Maybe in the dating world some look to find same age or younger so the chance of losing them is less.

I think that is part of the problem . . . since I am older than they are, they might lose me quickly. Who knows? Linda

This is poignant and telling from the writer's point of view. Yet, many of us can relate to the passing of time. Your descriptions are right on! I especially like the first two stanzas. They speak the truth no one wants to think about. At least, not for too long. The saddest part to me is that someone would see themselves as 'too old'. Too old to love? Never. Being turned down for dates is never easy, no matter what the reason given. Your notes tell of turned down dates but, I would keep on trying if I were you. 70 is not the number I would consider too old, and I am 64. Thank you for this lovely moving poem about an age-old problem.
