This poem was colorful in images, and I liked the use of rhythm here as a musical element. This part: "Blond turns to brown turns to grey turns to white' was the best part for me. That was really strong and imaginative, that's what contemporary poetry is all about: finding new ways to make music out of language. And it worked so well to underscore your theme of a fading beauty, a disconnected attraction. estory

My goodness, what a load of rubbish is that. 65 and 68! Soon they will be 71. Pay them no heed. Age is all in the mind and with a positive attitude and good health that is what matters. I'm 67 later this month. I don't like it, but I still feel and act like a much younger person. I loved your poem. All best. Ulla:)))

First of all I want to applaud your honesty in sharing this poem and the story behind it with us, for it is obviously very personal. I'm sure many others will be able to empathise with how those comments made you feel. I think that's absolutely ridiculous- nobody is too old to be loved nor ineligible for it and I am sure without a doubt you have so much to offer a person. Surely there are fellow lonely people out there who are in their 70's too? I think you should never lose hope, if this is what you desire then continue to seek it! I love that you expressed your emotions about this issue within a poem and can relate to this as this is one reason that I write poetry as well. It helps us to process difficult emotions and connect with like minded souls. I thought your words were beautiful, heart wrenching and emotive and will resound with others. Beautiful x

True bottom line conveyed in this particular write, finding ourselves to walk alone, delighting hell no doubt, desiring the inner suffering, in my opinion of this work.

'what use () the soul? (is)

This poem is very relatable but, you are never too old lol. I like the unformatted style this poem was written in as well. The picture fits the poem. Thank you for sharing.

This poem, Too Old, is a mindset we all have to set aside and push through to feel each new day is a way to enjoy things better and better.

Bill: it isn't my mindset, of being too old, but, apparently some have it. Thanks for reading. Linda

You're only as old as you feel. I'm 68 and get turned down all the time. LoL. Very nice and well written poem about aging. No edits or adjustments necessary.

it flows beautifully as I read through it and the punctuation (or purposeful lack of) keeps me at the rhythm that I know the author intended for me. I also pay particular attention to the presentation of it. Since there are usually fewer letters and words than a story or article, I place great importance on the spacing, placement and actual choice of letters and words. Presentation is everything to me with a 5.0.

Such a wonderful poem, Linda and I can relate to. Our hair turns gray, that's the beginning. We don't feel old mentally, but we notice we can not do what we used to do... Beloved ones die... But deep inside we're still the same. And than I think:The time that rests I want quality of life and do what I still can do. Enjoy my life with the family and friends I still have.
Wonderful poem. Fia

this is a beautifully crafted piece of poetry dear Linda! I am sometimes very amazed by how people grow old but continue business as usual. I just watched a document about a 86 year ld man who was blinded 40 years earlier and he received the mensa honorary member without any tests because he had done so many things that improved his living in a secluded area.
thank you for sharing!
blessings and a super squeeze!
