Very well done - the rhyming is good. And the subject universal. With any luck, they'll have a yard sale and this poor rocking horse will have a new group of kids who will appreciate him.
Nice poem, good luck with the contest.

A very well-written rhyming poem about the history of the rocking horse that gives the children of the house great delight but now they are all gone and rocking horse is alone, nobody comes to ride him anymore.

I always wanted a rocking horse when I was young and not so young, and I love your poem in well rhymed couplets about this rocking horse that sits alone and still. Nice one
cheers,

It's not too late for us to have a rocking horse. I say let's get us one. Thank you for reviewing.

This is a sweet and mournful little lament by a toy! It reminds me so much of the skin horse in the Velveteen Rabit. If you don't know the story, that's a huge compliment! Well done! A wonderful take on the prompt!

You did a great job, Mystery Author, with the contest prompt. I could 'see' the little rocking horse even if no picture had been included. Your words are descriptive and create great imagery. Great job, on the super rhymes. Your lines flow smoothly and tell a great ,but poignant, little story. Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest. Jan

Fabulous poem written in rhyming couplets. Definitely a sixer, but I'm out right now. Your piece reads smoothly with great word choices and nostalgic theme--sad actually. Best of luck in the contest. Marilyn

Neat ode to a toy rocking horse.
Line 2 of stanza 7 seems too long for the meter. Maybe I am reading it wrong? To me it fits better without the word "over."
In the last line, "goes" should be "go" to agree with the subject (days).
I hope grandchildren come soon to play on that horse!

If I still had a six star rating left this poem would have earned it. As far as I am concerned this poem gets my vote. Your poem rhymed, makes sense, and it invokes emotions within the reader. Very nice job.

There's nothing so forlorn as a forgotten childhood toy. This reminds me of the story of the Velveteen Rabbit. Just lovely. Here's hoping for some grandchildren to come and save the day.
