I spoil you with the sixpacks. 'The only thing lurking in the shadows was my overactive imagination.' Nice. I will almost forgive you the absinthe pun. Great write my friend - DJ

You certainly are spoiling me with the sixpacks - despite the absinthe pun. At least I refrained from the shaggy dog story with a punchline of 'absinthe makes the fart go Honda'. Thanks for the review. Much appreciated. Best wishes, Tony

This was an informative chapter, Tony. You did a good job with the dialogue and the individual characters who appeared to carry the story. Kayla seems like she will be in or cause more trouble. The pieces are starting to fall into place. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Tony, another intriguing and outstanding chapter :)
What I really enjoy about these chapter, and always will, is how the story is told through Charles, the narrator. Charles is a fascinating character ... the way he speaks, thinks, acts.
I also love the natural flow of dialog between all the characters.
Each chapter seems to lead into more suspense :)
This is truly worthy of six stars!
Gale

Charles learned more information about Kayla. You are doing great things with this story.

That suited me for I thought a bit of fresh air might do her good.. (very minor but an extra period)

Oddly enough for a son of moonshine country deep in American heartland, as a sailor in Apulia I drank some absinthe, back in 1967...
like carefully doubled and twisted 'shine, it seemed to be almost pure alcohol, 180 proof or such...I went back to domestic Peroni...twelve cents a bottle...excellent chapter, moving right along...

I think that the only time I've drunk absinthe was at an after-party following my son's wedding. My wife didn't speak to me for several days after.

I must have used all my sixes already. I need to keep a better eye on them - or maybe just read the bit that tells me how many I have. The dialogue is very realistic. I don't know anything about cocaine but does the high only last a relatively short time? I like the 'overactive imagination' lurking in the shadows too.

Thanks for your review and mention of six stars lurking in the shadows! I don't know much about cocaine either, but Google tells me that the high lasts for about an hour and that the results of mixing it with alcohol can be disastrous, as one is an 'upper' and the other is a 'downer'.

Charles may still find out about that letter. This is a very well written chapter and very interesting story. I wonder why Andre was grabbed by the paramilitary force.

I appreciate your comments, StoryMan. Much appreciated. It seems likely from what went on in previous chapters that Andre may be connected with ISIS. All the best, Tony

Wanting him to ring Helen and tell him where he is wouldn't be a good idea at all, and I think Kayla knows that. She's devious. I'm glad Charles will get out of there without any incidences. There's something fishy about her.

You could be right about Helen being a bit miffed about him pushing off to spend time with her sister. He may have his work cut out to broker a peace arrangement!

Kayla seems to be getting stranger by the minute. And why the suggestion to call Helen? Innocent enough, or something else in mind? You do know how to entice a reader! LOL!

You're right. Kayla seems to come under the general heading of 'too hot to handle'! Now poor old Charles has got to find a way of making his peace with Helen, who may not be amused by the turn of events.

This item is absolutely perfect for me. I must enjoy every single aspect of the item. I must leave that particular item and feel like I would tell someone about it, think about it or refer to it with confidence later during the day. The Author has paid particular attention to the language used and the words were chosen. Every single grammar issue has been resolved and there are no spelling mistakes. I would highly recommend this item to a friend.
