Praise indeed! This time of year really highlights the beauty of nature at its best.
lush-carpeted in blooms, a festive flood
of color, pungent scent that swiftly fills
the room and brightens spirits, thrills one's soul.
All our senses are filled with the colors, scents and lushness.
You've done a great job of capturing it all in your piece.
Well done.

I like this depiction of nature's spring details very much. And i got to learn that a towhee is a north american songbird of the bunting family (I'd never heard of a towhee or a bunting before, so thanks for a new experience). I love the words 'scud' and 'swale' and 'knoll'. I really appreciate seeing wider vocabulary than the usual. I Praise Nature's skills, and I praise yours!

Thank you, Lisa. Writing a Curtal Sonnet was a challenge because of the odd rhyme pattern. I am delighted you enjoyed the results.

I'll have to check what a curtal sonnet actually is. That makes it even more admirable when a poet can shape meaning to fit a framework. I doubt I'd have the patience.

Read my author's notes at the end of the poem. They explain what you have to do. The book I cite has all kinds of forms that are fun to try. Rod

Duh. That was remiss of me to not scroll down. I stopped at the poem... in a bit of a hurry. It sounds a worthwhile book; thanks for the recommendation.

Beautiful! The tilting trumpets of daffodils! I love that! I will praise Ma Nature along with the poet! This sonnet flows smoothly over the tongue. Well done!

You have done quite well with this style. You have made effective use of specific details to pay tribute to spring. This lovely piece movingly

Nice poems - and yes, we do welcome when nature greens up our yard - sprouts daffodils - altho at night we have freezing and the poor daff's bow to the ground. Had to pick them and bring them in. I'm thankful to the Lord for the beauty He created.
Nice poem

A very well-written curtal sonnet about the beauty of nature that we can only be grateful and filled with praise for the creator that does it all perfectly well with no flaws.

This curtal sonnet, Praise Nature, has the proper format and emphasizes the beauty that can be experienced out in nature. Some terrific descriptions here for flowers, clouds, and the land itself. Nice.
