What does maist mean? Your poem made sense, it rhymed, and it invoked positive feelings within the reader. I'm not a poet either so I'm sure someone will point out your meters off and your rhymes are forced. I wouldn't sweat it, you do you and let them do them.

Who knew a poem could be written with so many stanzas about coffee! LOL You did a great job for what you call a "rookie poet." I could almost smell the coffee. Well done!

I have read quite a few poems on coffee, but I have to say this is my favorite! For a rookie, you did well.I like the irregular rhyme scheme. It adds'flavor' to your poem. Love the line, 'In the ceramic hug, warm as a hug,' is my favorite part. People who drink coffee do have an emotional attachment to it. Well done, new poet friend!

And drink coffee myself. I like the way you describe coffee here in so many different ways. It works well and makes a good read.
