I almost stopped reading this poem immediately because the second line of the first stanza struck me as a bit odd of a metaphor. But after continuing, I found this to be a fantastic poem. However I think it would have possibly been better ended after "gaping black hole" which by the way was a very powerful description. The last two stanzas weren't bad rather they just seemed unnecessary while the 3rd to the last stanza seemed like a perfect ending personally

Excellent, I can see why it is hanging onto the top spot in the contest. Your rhyming is perfect and the story, advice you give will determine your path, up or down.
Unfortunately I have used all my 6 stars.

Truly an exceptional contest entry. Loved how you debated the recognition of good versus evil. Yes, there IS good and evil within all of us (flesh versus spirit).
I really like how you wrapped up your poem, giving the reader something to ponder and focusing on the positive of 'good'.
Beautifully illustrated also.
I wish you the very best in the contest :)

This speaks between good and evil there is fine line, both exist since the creation, there is evil so we feel importance of good, it is wise to do good, think good and act good for shining and defeating evil; well said, well done. Thank you for sharing. Keep Writing Inspire Changing -- DR ALCREATOR

I so agree and human nature can be dark at times. I have hurt someone emotionally recently and I feel great guilt over it and it was out of my own frustration, I could identify with your words, love Dolly x
