Well, rain and sunshine are what it takes for things to grow. I admire your ambition. I think your weather must be better than ours here in Wisconsin, USA. A nice Whitney and love your scarecrow. I am assuming the tomatoes are from last year? Marilyn

Hi Marilyn :) Yep, the tomatoes are last years! A bumper crop - kept us in fresh tomatoes for the whole summer and into autumn, and then I made a few batches of chutney too!
Thanks for the great feedback as always.
    Best wishes, Debra :)

Hey it is the life of Debra! Love the scarecrow picture shooing away the bird and squirrels from those planted seeds and veggies! The weather really is glorious down here after that last downpour, that even the petulias and begonias are coming out in colour and dancing in the breeze! Lovely and uplifting whitney this one that really soaks up the sunshine and radiates it glow out to everyone who stops by to smell the flowers ;)

Good presentation. Good alliterations with G-words, R-words and S-words. Nice lyrical flow. Nice poem, especially for April showers. Great work. Have a good week :)

Dear Debra,
I enjoyed your well-written and featured poem, "Silver Lined". I loved its positive growing garden theme! It brightens us on a rainy day and it's exciting to imagine a garden growing!
My best,
Deborah

My garden is lacking these days, however, my gardenias are getting ready to explode. The sun is so hot it bakes my roses. Oh dear. Your scarecrow is adorable and sits as the protector of your hard work. Sending warmth your way.
All my best,
Sally xo

You're even cheerful when you talk about rain. I love all your little poems. They always make me happy.
Thanks so much for sharing.
PS. Sam is too cute to be a scarecrow.

What a fun look at the silver lining of rainy days! I enjoyed this poem. It makes me yearn to do a bit of planting myself!

Thank you so much, Carla :) I might pop out myself to do a bit of digging now that the rain has let up for a while. Best wishes, Debra :)

I truly like this Whitney that gives us a contrasting picture of a Spring day. We can easily VISUALIZE the rain and clouds that dampen the Speaker's feelings. But when she spots new growth in the garden, we SEE her smile. Rod

Oh, Debra! I am going to be so sad when April ends because that will mean I don't get the delight of these daily, sweet, simple-things-of-life poems of yours. They've been such a ray of sunshine this entire month. You met the challenge with the BEST compositions. xo

Hi Rachelle :) Thanks for your kind encouragement as always and for your oh-so-generous 6 star award! I'm honoured - truly :)
I've got to me honest - after April, I may not write a whitney for a while (!) but I promise that my poetry will always be about my nearest and dearest and the things that make me tick (or tickle my funny bone!)
Thanks again - it means a lot :)
    Love Debra x

I understand. Doing anything that constantly can make it less enjoyable. xo

So true, no matter what we are given and feel is a bad or troublesome thing, there is always a bright side and a good thing that comes later. Very nicely done
