I'm with your husband...No way would I be comfortable with that tradition LOL Other than that, the poem is very well done. I wish you luck with this in the contest.

He really was SUCH a very good sport!! (and he's finally forgiven me for making his life flash before his eyes on our wedding day...) Thanks for the fun review, JDRBAR.

I give 5*s because I like the poem. I like the experience that I can see in my mind's eye as well as relate to, & without getting too "teacher-like", read the poem out loud & from afar & see that it can be enhanced more.

Thanks, no, I just did that for someone & they think that they are writing for themselves instead of their readers. & I was just chastized for what I thought would & could help. I know that I appreciate an opinion on writing for everyone has a preference. giovanni

Nicely spoken, compelling statements about commitment, feeling exchanged amounting years of togetherness. Well said, in my opinion of this work presented skills. Well, done by you.

The author's words are creative, interesting and thought provoking.
The reader pondered on the words of this poem and how tradition
leaves a beautiful memory. The artwork is perfect and compliments
this poem well.

Wonderful - what a happy day and fun that must have been. And singing - and dancing. Great. Nice memory. I have not figured out how to put my own photos on with my post. One of these days.
Really liked your poem and the picture.

Haha. Gail, if you know any children, they can help you. They never knew anything BUT how to work magic with computers!

Thanks for the very nice review. I appreciate it.

Ha! Ha! - Finally, a few years into 21st Century my husband got me a half-way intelligent phone. Not smart yet cuz it hasn't taught me all I need to know. Ha
Last night we took two older teen g.kids out for burgers. They taught me more about the phone than even my husband knows. oi vey - these kids are born with computer in their hands I believe. And I'm told there's more intelligence stored in this little "smart" phone than they even had in the first space ships. What? and it's in my pocket?

I wanted to say to the two teens last night - "could you come home with us and be our teens for awhile?"

Hahaha. If you offered to feed them, I bet they'd have done it.

Yeah, that's kind of too much power for a mere mortal to have, right?!

This poem is very well-written and informative--a bit amusing too, as I can imagine the facial expressions he wore as the "ride" progressed.
You've made excellent use of specific details.

Hahaha. He's the stoic variety, so what you see there is as bad as it got, but that expression pretty much sums it up. Thanks for the very nice review, Janice.

Yes, these are good memories.

Your verse ably describes the fear of being lifted into the air in an uncomfortable seat by likely some strangers.

Your rhyme scheme is spot on.

Glad the tide has been good to you these last 15 plus years.

Yeeha, ride 'em cowboy! We would say in Australia that glazed-eyed Bobby looks like a 'stunned mullet'. Funny poem, very descriptive. Interesting to learn more about Jewish wedding customs.
Have a nice time on Saturday night at that other wedding. Grin and bear it (best not to bare it, your lovely dress will be showing you off enough.)

What a lovely tradition..To be lifted up on chairs and carted around the room ..! Sure that would stay in mind for rest of the life as a precious pearl in the oyster of your memory. All the best for the contest. This looks like a winner.

I'm not exactly sure my HUSBAND likens that memory to a gem of the earth, but the rest of us in attendance certainly did. Thanks for this warm and gracious review, Sanku.
