Dear Mystery Poet,
What a pretty picture of summer! With the pretty lilac bushes scenting the garden air and butterflies flitting around us. What could make a prettier picture!?? This is fun and sweet and meets all the criteria! Good luck in the voting!

I like the images the words invoke of Spring flowers and what they attract.
The picture is apt though they aren't roses.
According to the rules the first and last words are supposed to be synonyms.
Good luck and keep writing

Thank you for the heads up on the first and last words being synonyms. I totally missed that. I've revised the piece. As for the picture - that's the purple lilac bush who won by attracting the butterfly with her scent. Just having a little fun here imagining my flowers vying for attention. Looking forward to my roses, irises, lilacs, peonies, poppies and lilies to pop this summer! Thank for dropping by to read and review.

You're welcome. I can understand why the lilacs one. They do have a strong and appealing scent.
