Great job. I had to re-do my poem on this form as I did not make first and last line synonyms. This one worked. Good luck in the contest. I do wish we had lilacs. haven't gotten to grow over here where it's a bit cold most nights.

This poem has wonderful images of summer. I like how the rose is countered by the lilac and the butterfly seems to be the go-between. There certainly is joy and bliss here.
