Oh dear, what a worry this would have been. I'm glad your son is going to be okay. I know many adults and children rant and rave about having to wear helmets but they've saved many from much worse injuries than would otherwise be the case.

Hi Judy :) Thanks for your feedback - it's a week after the event now and Ben is almost back to normal (apart from having to wear a sling!)
    Best wishes, Debra :)

Oh dear, Debra, I'm glad he's okay, you're right, it could have been a lot worse. I can tell you now, it doesn't get any better, wait till he's on his first motorbike! A total nightmare, I was glad when my two were old enough to learn to drive a car. A whole year I had to go through the 50cc motorbike thing. Honestly, some people could cycle faster than they could go on their bikes, didn't make any difference though. :( Your poem said it perfectly. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra x x

Hi Sandra :) There'll be no motorbikes here! Ben's healing well, thank you. His nose is almost back to normal size and he's managing to dress himself now. Still needs help cutting his food and opening bottles and things but, we're getting there...
Thank you for your kind comments. Best wishes as always, Debra :)

Debra,

Oh my stars! Bless his bones - literally! And bless your poor mother's heart! I can't imagine what those few hours were like at first for you -- well, okay. I can imagine. --sigh-- Unfortunately, I've been there. It's not a fun place to be, my sister. I'm so glad everything turned out as well as it did. Perhaps he'll learn a small something.

Saying a prayer for fast healing!

I'm so glad he's okay, Debra. Thank goodness he was wearing his helmet. There is nothing worse than seeing your child suffering and hurt. Good job on the poem to capture that whole feeling with, thankfully, a good ending.

Hi Chas :) Thank you for your kind feedback. Ben is on the mend, thankfully :) I actually think that he does realise how lucky he has been to walk away with just a broken nose and shoulder. Best wishes, Debra

I am sorry Ben, had an accident, but like you I am thankful that he was not too badly hurt. May his healing be swift.

Even in the face of such tumult, you can write a perfectly delightful poem. Thanks again for touching base last night from the hospital. That was quite the scare. I'm glad you've all survived it!! xo

Hi Rachelle :) Thank you so much for your concern and for your lovely words. Ben is on the mend and we are so grateful that he walked away with relatively minor injuries. It could've been lots worse.
Best wishes as always, Debra :) x

First I want to say thank God your son is healing well. You know who with his guarding angels were watching over him
I know it's not easy at times like this yet this is part of being a parent and having active boy

I'm sooo sorry to hear that, Debra. I do hope he gets better soon.
I'm sure tomorrow you'll have better news and will be able to write a cheerful poem again.
A big hug for both you and Ben.

And the whiney to accompany the frightful moment. I hope he does take more care in future but I am sure he'll come out of this bigger, better and bolder. This is a nice written whitney that captures your heart-stopping moment and shows your maternal instinct so very well. I am sure he will bounce back and be thankful that you stayed with him hospital but fingers, eyes and toes all crossed for you and hope he recovers well, my blessings and convalescent thoughts are sent from far away.
