Hi CD, Do you really think that humanity could actually be "unburdened of their need to fight?" I'm not going to hold my breath for that one I don't think. I'm not so sure we've got it in us. I'm waiting on the new show that Amazon has coming out soon, Good Omens... Something tells me we're more like that... lol.

No, I very much doubt that will ever happen, more's the pity.

Amazon has shows, like Netflix or Stan? I didn't know that.

    Thanks for reviewing :)

    Cheers,
    Craig

I liked the rhythm and rhyme of this poem. You conveyed a clear message. An enjoyable read. No edits or adjustments necessary from my review.

With all them gods of yesteryear we come to the main one. Yet, there is the joker in every deck. Not all believe and men kill men for land and greed. No one is better if all are the same. The joker laughs for we can only hope for a better life in the afterlife, if not... who cares? We will be dead. I believe in God and hope for a better life. :)

Nice to see my poem got the grey cells going. I think a better life (for all) in this one would be nice, but almost certainly wishful thinking. Thanks for reviewing.

You did a great job expressing your thoughts/feelings, CD. Your argument is presented in a non-judgmental way.

Good job with the great rhymes and smooth flow.

I agree with your theme. Man will continue to find some reason to war with other groups of people until the end of time. He did in BC and continues in AD.

Thanks for sharing. Jan

When reading your poetry, it flows beautifully as I read through it and the punctuation (or purposeful lack of) keeps me at the rhythm that I know the author intended for me. I also pay particular attention to the presentation of it. Since there are usually fewer letters and words than a story or article, I place great importance on the spacing, placement and actual choice of letters and words. Presentation is everything to me.

I guess you might be looking for another messiah, like the Jews, while it's men who cause war, not God, (although people look for s scaprgoat, and it must be God, although you can't have free will and and an interfering God) you'd be struggling to find a major war that was fought in religion's name my friend. God didn't invent football supporters, patriotism, or unholy fervour, man did! But you put your argument incredibly well, superb scribing, well done, blessjngs, Roy

    Hello Roy,

No, I'm not looking for a messiah of any sort. We appear to agree totally on one point -- wars are instigated by men, not commanded by gods.

Thanks for the kind comments, appreciated.

This is a fun poem using a lot of different religions' gods (Greek, Islam, Egyptian). I think your penultimate stanza bears the dream of a lot of the world now.

Keep writing

Very well written poem. It does a great job of describing mans insatiable thirst for war and for killing. Why does it have to be this way? What brings out this animalistic behaviour in certain human beings? I could never imagine having so much hate for another human being that I would want to snuff out their life.

Much appreciated comments, Sean. Why indeed? Although, I think it's a bit of a slur on non-human animals to compare our behaviour to theirs! Thanks for reviewing -- Craig

Hi Craig. Good to see something from you back on the site. Your poem is worded and rhymed well. Regarding the last question as to whether anything will change, probably not. It is what it is, but we can hope for the best. Marilyn

I'm so happy to see your post. I've missed reading your work, Craig; it's always thought-provoking, but even more, wonderfully written, whether prose or poetry. (I'm still waiting for the next chapter of your book.(*smile*)
