I was invited to read along, so I decided to start at the beginning. This sounds so much like my life. I met my husband days before he was to be deployed to Vietnam. We met as I was walking down the streets (love at first sight). We said our goodbyes at the airport in1966 he was off to Vietnam, promises were made. When he returned, we got married...He served in Operation Desert Storm1990-1991.
Therefore, I am looking forward in reading every Chapter. You did an excellent job in the writing of this Love Story, I was intrigue from the beginning to the end. The story line very descriptive and clear and a most enjoyable read. Looking forward in reading the next chapter.

Great introductory narrative. Be careful to give each character an honest 'voice'. Bill does 'southern drawl':
"Commitment don't come from no piece of paper," Bill had said. "It comes from how much we love each other...so don't let nobody tell you (that) we (ain't) aren't married yet, because we are."
Then he launches into an erudite plea to God. Doesn't work. It is an eloquent prayer, but not the Bill that you first introduced. Dumb it down.

Hi DJ - First of all, thank you for reading and reviewing Chapter 1 of Love Long Distance. These are honest voices, coming from 2 different authors. Although Bill may jibber jabber at times, as mentioned in the introduction, the key words are "at times." Bill is still intellectual and his grandma would've gotten him with her broom if he didn't use proper language when appropriate. OUCH! We hope you continue to follow along and read Chapter 2 which is up now and Chapter 3 coming soon. We appreciate your input, even though we disagree.
